Thought provoking and wonder-inspiring. As a student at university where the internet is our library, this is joyously refreshing and exciting. Thank you!

It is true that the kids today, armed with all the latest gadgets, have stopped asking deeper questions. They suffer from the illusion of equating information with true knowledge. Whether it is external science, unraveling the mysteries of nature or inner science, exploring the incredible possibilities of higher states of consciousness, this generation is not interested do the hard work. Of course, I realize sweeping generalizations is wrong. Yet it is quite true that most are happy playing with their technology toys and speaking the language of Ellsworth Toohey (antithesis of Howard Roark in Rand's Fountainhead) all style and no substance. Forget deeper questions...most just "cut & paste" what's on Wikipedia. What's really disheartening is not just the absence of curiosity, but the absence of willingness to learn and internalize the existing systems of knowledge and build awareness to ask the right questions.

+riddick388 never knew that. but not hearing the reaction of the crowd my first thought was to feel empathy for the speaker as though he were being disrespected and disregarded and rude rejection. did anyone else have this thought/feeling at first impression? now I have a new belief it is important to get a sense of what others think even if I am normally not consciously noticing it.

@@riddick388 the crowd cannot be heard except when he brings the guy on stage to help him and at the end when they applaud? Dont buy the microphone explanation at all.

Senator Robert F. Kennedy used a quotation as a theme of his 1968 campaign for the presidential nomination: “Some men see things as they are and ask 'why?'; I dream things that never were and ask 'why not?' ”

Okay....so I paused the video because I'm scared. I lecture on logic and syllogistic structure. I'm also a professional illusionist. I'm also a HUGE fan of Jason Latimer. BUT.....I have noticed that magicians will talk about this subject and basically do an hour of word salad whilst performing a few effects. And I really hope Jason's talk is academically useful and not nonsensically motivated. Two examples of these individuals are "Jordan Peterson" and "Deepak Chopra". So...let's see how we do here!
