What a strong and amazing human being! Michaela experienced so many horrors at such a young age, that no child should ever experience, and yet still rose above it all to achieve her dream of just being happy. To say that if only we could all be so lucky seems really disingenuous because truly, how many of us who come from our much more privileged upbringings could have even hoped to be able to survive such an experience if we were put in her place - I'm thinking it wouldn't be all that many. So it's really hard for me to hear her say that she still struggles with accepting compliments because honestly, and at the risk of sounding completely melodramatic, I think she's one of the most beautiful human beings I've ever seen.

After watching this video, I think her life story can encourage a lot of people. It is a fairly touching story about a woman did her best to make her dream come true. Even though there are a plethora of hostile comments and discrimination for her , she never give up purchasing her dream as a ballerina. Although her appearance is not perfect, she is kind and hard-working. I learn something from her. To begin with, we should be friendly and respect to others who is different from ourselves. The story I heard was her mum was adopting one girl but heard how Mia had a ‘sister’ and she could not bare to separate them. She was wise. Second, by watching DePrince’s speech, I feel her determination to encourage the young generation to believe and push the dream. A girl who named Michaela De Prince has a completely different live from her name. She was born with vitiligo which is the skin condition. So everyone called her a"devil’s child”. And she had a miserable childhood that we can’t imagine how if it happened to ourselves. But she never tries to give up her ballet dream. Therefore, she had a mamma who treating her sincerely and adopted with her best friend. The most important is she got accepted into a professional ballet company. Like she said, don’t be afraid of living and loving. It’s OK to be different. It’s ok to stand out.

After watching Michaela DePrince’s speech on TED I feel full of shock and surprise. I never thought those horrible tragedies would happen to her, but what I learned from her is not how to become a perfect person, but how to live out yourself in this world. How to keep loving and hoping when you feel desperate and the grateful encouragement of being proud of yourself, accept your own. We should be who we are instead of becoming the person that people want us to be. Keep pursuing your dream and always believe you are worthy and born with meaning. Last but not least, even though we can’t completely stop the disputes and war in this world, what we can do is continue to share our love, our lessons, and hope with more people, and let them know it’s always possible to change your faith.
