Why I lived happily despite being afflicted with cancer | Saidus Khaled Sumon | TEDxUIU

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Despite being diagnosed with cancer and several diseases, Saidus Khaled Sumon never quit music. According to him no matter how tough life is, if you try to live with a positive approach, you will enjoy every bit of it. Because happiness is a choice and life is beautiful.
Saidus Salehin Khaled (Sumon), better known as Bassbaba, is a bassist from the south Asian country Bangladesh. He is known for his nice grooves, excellent use of different bass playing techniques, and, mostly, for his quite frequent bass solos in his band Aurthohin's songs.Bassbaba Sumon is also the vocalist for his band Aurthohin.

During HSC I used to travel on a public bus home and listen to your songs. I had a tough time and was heart broken for so many reasons, but your songs taught me to live and fight back, inspired me to believe in ourselves, and made me realize our scars can make us stronger. Thank you for being who you are, I'm so proud to have the opportunity to grow up listening to your songs.

very inspiring movie .. i was diagnosed with thyroidcancer beginning of 2011 and from that moment on i wasnt so happy or positive cuz for me it was really hard to handle with the pain and fatigue .. i became a real terror to everybody .. the last 4 to 5 years have been by far the most unhappiest time of my life .. 2 exgirlfriends left me in that time but for me it was almost impossible to have a relationship .. one discovered the cancer so to her im forever gratefull but the other woman was mentally completely crazy (making jokes about my cancer) .. i was so mad at that time that i wanted to visit her with a friend to physically hurt her or even more .. then i got introduced to Christianity by another friend and it saved my life .. first off i didnt have any anger or hate in me anymore.. i became such a positive person .. i forgave everybody and apologized to everybody for my cranky behavior .. 2 months later i became cancerfree like sort of a miracle after my last operation .. and to top it off i got the sweetest, caring and most beautiful woman in the world by my side now.. so the lesson learned is: when u have cancer, always keep fighting, stay positive and always ask for help .. let people know how u feel and think and dont crop things up in ur head .. God saved me, he can do the same for all you people out there going through a rough time .. have faith .. Amen

i might have 100s of problems during the day but at night i go to sleep happy because i think if sadness is a situation happiness is a mood. i like bassbaba a lot because i always see him smiling. and now after listening to his story i like him even more.its amazing how ones story can build up another ones moral.truly inspiring. i pray to Allah that sumon bhai live a long healthy life. sumon bhai amio recently about 28 kg weight lose korsi within 8 months.bhishon koshto korsi but i m happy now with the result. so thank u very much bcoz u were my motivation..
