The way he speaks english is very pleasant. A strong way of speaking. He also manifests the idea of a certain Wallander novel where a swedish policeman collaborates with Latvian police force in a crime case. Good and proud people trying to get by in difficult environment.

it's interesting. the speaker implied that in Latvia one could go to law school directly from high school. that is definitely not the case in the US. I wonder which arrangement is more normal.

+BeoJack You can do the same here in Australia, they just take the best of the best out of school then try to break you in Law School. It cuts out the useless 4 years of partying inbetween high school and your actual degree.

+Mitch Buckley hahaha best of the best pfft , shut up , they take people who choose the endeavour coupled with a sufficient mark . I attend one of the best law schools in Australia with the highest employment rate of graduates. im not the best , I grew up in houso n get hds n perfect marks for nearly every assessment. that's whats wrong with law , the elitist attitudes of some law students. you need to grow up and adopt a different attitude before you get cut down to size in a moot by a houso , there is no such thing as the best of the best , that's a highly offensive term and that is part of the reason why people think we are all standoffish pretentious pointy shoed tossers when tell people we do law , they don't try to break you either , that's a myth , its not like the paper trail lol

Where did I say growing up in a housing commision affected your chance of getting into law school. University of Melbourne (the best law school in Australia) doesn't offer law as an undergrad however Sydney does and they only take the top 0.5% of high school graduates. Not sure what you are trying to get at here. Are you trying to say the top 0.5% aren't the best high school students?

I am simply taking issue with the notion of law students being the best of the best. My mark was 95 , I wouldn't have gotten in to Sydney uni unless I was a local and had a little luck.

+BeoJack I go to law school in Germany. We can go to law school immediately after high school, but you study around 5 years, take a state exam, and then work 2 years at different places and then take a second state exam, similar to the bar (I suppose). Then you are done.

Doc Owino it's a reference to the moment he talked about in the speech when he accepted the challenge of joining a private company while remaining an honest lawyer. It can also be seen as a symbol of frankness and vulnerability.
