This was incredibly inspiring! Johanna's message about the power of "I choose to" resonated deeply with me. It's so simple yet powerful. I'm definitely going to start incorporating this phrase into my daily life. Thanks for sharing this, Johanna and TEDxTwenteU! 😊

Perhaps these three words should be rearranged to; “How ‘I’ Can! It’s much more positive and focused on the task before us. I don’t mean to make her approach less rather after she asks the first three words and then follow with the rearranged 3. An affirmation works on the mind, subtly but works.

If you focus the stories of who could make it, you will miss the reality of 99% of who could not make it and at the moment you could not make it you will be broken

Failing at something is a normal part of trying to build your own life and oftentimes we don't get 100% what we want. It is not so much about making it and more about the journey to become who you want to be and become someone who is content with who they are. I know plenty of people whose ideas didn't work out the way they wanted to. Yes, they did have a very hard time for a while afterwards, but ultimately, they all found their own way and happiness by continuing to develop themselves and make a conscious attempt to improve their life. While they have not "made it" according to some people's perspective, they are not living a life they enjoy. I don't think that they failed at life and surely they are not broken. Sometimes life does break you, but you don't have to remain broken.

Absolutely true. And i want to add my advice. guys, please, don’t give up. even if it is really very hard right now. I played tennis for 6 years. There was a competition. I failed. I decided to write to my couch that i was gonna quit tennis. But i thought, why should i. Why should i do that. Even if i failed, it doesn’t mean i am gonna fail again and again. And i was right. On the first summer after the competition we went to compete again and i succeed. I took the first place. Frankly speaking, i was unbelievably happy. I also understood another thing. That if you wanna be champion, you really have to work hard toward your goal and don’t feel sorry for yourself.

Hi Marie, Your point is very valid, because we can take action and start, but we usually give up sometime later, so I think is important to keep going, even more that make the decision to start. For example I have studied English since I have memory but I haven’t been able to keep going after sometime, but this time I have decided that I am going to speak English Thanks for sharing your point of view By the way, if you have some feedback for me, that would be awesome. Regards,😊

thanks to your story, I decided to restart my study. actually, I've been facing some negative mind like why I couldn't do anything, and why only it takes too long for me to do something. However, thanks to you, I'm going to put in my effort on my study right now. thanks a lot!!
