Corey explains how karma affects us, not because some supernatural force keeps score, but because the actions we take have direct consequences for our quality of life and for the world we get to live in. Unfortunately, many altruists treat karma as trade or sacrifice; they take on a “give to get” mentality that always yields a net loss. Instead of a trade, treat karma as an investment, and we will reap incredible returns.
Corey Lerch (Class of 2008) believes in solving problems, building relationships, and above all, relentless learning. He owns and operates his own independent financial planning practice where his success depends on all three of those habits. Corey also tutors in his spare time across a wide range of ages and subjects. Through Toastmasters and now TEDx, Corey speaks to millennials about attitudes critical to success in the new economy.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

In a Buddhist context, karma leaves imprints on your mind. For example, when you harm another person, it leaves a psychological residue within your consciousness. Those seeds in time manifest within the material world. This is one way how karma works.

It may sometimes seem like people get away with murder..but I know they..we don't. KARMA takes care of that. I have personal experience of that. You may or may not believe in reincarnation, I do, and for good reason. The bad actors do not escape. You may want to see them get their comeuppance, but don't. Nevertheless, they do. I would like to be able to prove it to you, but can't. I do know it will happen. It is for them to get visited by KARMA, not ours to witness it. Their victims will witness it, but won't know they are. They may even have a hand in it..but again, won't know the how or the why.

Karma can even catch up on you from your past life but you must remember if you do good you will get good back, you can also turn your bad karma into something positive and it is important to not confuse karma with pain to fuel your success, but karma is truly a beautiful thing as it’s fair. So there was this girl that I liked and i told her my feelings but she said no to me but we still used to talk like normal friends, even though I loved her very genuinely and selflessly and only wanted to see her happy, even though it meant that she was not going to be with me. After sometime, we used to exchange such deep meaningful msgs that one can only exchange with a lover, we even exchanged i love yous but she always used to say that she meant it as a friend, even though she knew my feelings for her very well. Recently, i gave her my second and last love letter, expressing how much I love and care for her,, two days later i find that she is with someone else in a live in relation having all kinds of stuff and she told one my friends that I was shameless to have written that letter for her (she asked for a letter herself btw). It was the first time i regret loving someone in my life coz she never cared for my feelings.. I still don't know what I am feeling rn, cheated or hate but I believe karma will hit her coz she used to tell me she won't come in a relation coz of her last relationship ended very badly (no girl should experience that honestly) and I was there everytime when she needed me for emotional support... I used to cry when I saw her sad and broken... But the truth is I helped her out coming out of that situation and i see today myself in the situation where she was completely broken. I am happy that she is enjoying her life but I only feel emptiness now that giving all I had, even myself has paid me like this... Although I want karma to hit her but deep down I still don't want anything bad to happen to her coz she was my best friend and my love. Since it's just a 4 days past event, i am still trying to overcome the situation. I hope things will get better soon🥺💫💓

Karma can come back instantly, over time or even in stages. Either way you must always pay your karmic debt back it’s a law of the universe, what you give is what you get. Karma can even catch up on you from your past life but you must remember if you do good you will get good back, you can also turn your bad karma into something positive and it is important to not confuse karma with pain to fuel your success, but karma is truly a beautiful thing as it’s fair. Anyway I just made a video on all this and went into a lot of depth explaining it which would honestly open your mind up a lot, stay blessed❤️🙏

Karma is not transactional. Karma is the direct result of one's own actions. Karma is the relationship you have with yourself. If someone betrays you, for example, the fact you have been betrayed is NOT karma in any sense, but rather the result of the betrayer's own beliefs and values. Karma only comes into play if you focus on the betrayal and obsess about retribution, revenge; when your resentment overtakes your senses. If you live in that mentality, you will affect everyone around you and the quality of your mind. As it has been said before, it is similar to drinking poison and expecting someone else to die. Allowing the circumstances to pass, acceptance of the hurt caused and living with a forgiving mind, and being able to live in peace and love will ultimately determine the karmic result upon yourself. Like another old saying: when seeking revenge, remember to dig two graves.

to quote Sri Ramana Maharshi ' everything in life is predetermined ' & the same thought was echoed by Albert Einstein.if we analyse this statement further, we realise that all our actions are dictated by our own thoughts & we cannot think of anything other than what is already in our experience &that experience is stored up in our memory as knowledge.all our thoughts resulting in action can come only out of this very knowledge; this being so, there cannot be any karma independent of one's action.Gita says also, that one has the right to action but not to it's fruit; & all our scriptures & teachings of spiritual Masters goes on to say that ' one has to accept whatever happens in one's life taking it as divine will ' if so, the very theory of karma & it's consequences & the subsequent incarnation leaves, one in doubt !

No doubt, it's right to say one can choose his own karma but as for fruits, he will still get what he sowed. Of course don't expect a different kind of fruit. It only makes no sense if there is no Karma. Think of those spree killings that happened even inside a church or babies born with cleft-lips.

And to live with peaceful mind. Throw selfishness would be very hard for us who live in the prison of banking system and pressure to put food on the table, and thus without forgiving mindset, it's impossible to do good.

Karma is a law of the universe in Hinduism and Buddhism. By the way, Buddhism is a extension of Hinduism. Karma is much more complicated to understand. It is more than just action and reaction. It's about the nature of mankind and out thoughts, deeds, intentions, desire, etc. Watch the Hindu guru Sadhguru on KZbin. He will change your life.
@truth8307
@truth8307 3 жыл бұрын
The karma video I say from Sadhguru was not good, he talked about memories and not karma. BTW, all Eastern cultures believe in karma, not just Hinduism and Buddhism. Hinduism and Buddhism obviously shared much knowledge since they have much Truths but Buddha's explaination non karma is more in depth and Buddhism don't believe in any God, the biggest difference from Hinduism.

Anyway I just made a video on all this and went into a lot of depth explaining it which would honestly open your mind up a lot, stay blessed🙏

I wouldn't use the words ' reward' (people like this and they go for it ASAP) or 'punishment' (people do NOT like it and try to avoid it AMAP-AsMuchAsPossible). Karma does not reward or punish the doer, just gives them back the result of what they have done, meaning gives us back tomatoes ("good") if we sowed tomato seeds and thorns ("bad") if we sowed thorny weed seeds. Aren't the words rewards', 'punishment', 'good' , 'bad', etc. another form of labelling things, life's situations and people?

There's no such thing as karma, my family member has abused my children and me (I'm a widow) for over 10 years. It's affected my kids and me, all of us are now broken up and this family member has so remorse or realization of what he's done. He's successful and has a secure life and future. Meanwhile us 3 are broken up, separated and struggling

Karma is not a banking system, it is more like a placebo effect. Whereby simply the belief in something can often defy science and create a positive outcome.

No, karma is not about placebo effect and it doesn't disagree with any science. In fact, compatible with Newton's second law. Blind faith in a god is more placebo.

Karma is the sake of Suffering in order to reduce Sins in Naraka Loka, They come due to past Bad and good Actions. Just think of Big boss nomination concept , where people start real voting for their favourites, mean while the Person in the house does not even have a clue why he was in nomination. Nomination gives power to win fans. Similarly Karma gives power to understand and think loud and change. No matter what good or bad fruits we must remove from us hive it to god

I highly doubt that there is some underlying mechanism or consciously aware system operating in the background of reality , keeping track of our individual and collectively performed good deeds and wrong doings , intentionally punishing or awarding us for such aforementioned behaviours and or actions, it's more plausible to believe that rather than human kind being some special being which the universe focuses on intently , that our own interpretations are likely the culprit which has fabricated such a belief, a personally created story to fit the experiences we go through in life , creating such appealing narratives because of the accompanying subsequent feeling which comes along as the product of such fantasies , that being the assumption that mankind hold's some sort of high relevance and or crucial stature in the the world and universe at large , playing the role of some kind of necessary intelligence , which is believed to be some sort of required a central point that everything else revolves around. I believe in the ebb and flow of the interactive environments we are part of , such as the lift and opposing descents that'll eventually come our way probabilistically speaking, which may be experienced congruently as well as incredibly disproportionately experienced, receiving both sides of this spectrum , perhaps in equal proportion or perhaps not determined accordingly by mere happenstance along with the differing scopes of elapsed time which also play a role in the amount and side of this previously mentioned spectrum we are effected by , that being an obvious truth in reality which has been many times over seen to be an undeniable occurrence , demonstrated for our full observation to deduce from, interpret and analyze in depth, strengthening it's known truth through repeated confirmation by many individual observers, quite clearly. it' is established that some people throughout their lives experience a lot of what they determine as good , and only a small amount of the things they define as negative some go through many negative experiences , and a rather minute amount of positive ones in their life time, that being true regardless of their own particular performed (good or bad) actions and or intentions whether committed upon themselves or others deemed deserving or not, occurring physically, mentally, emotionally along with any other potential routes or avenues may exist to perform such positive and or negative interactions, its fun to believe that there's some conscious force controlling and balancing how much of each opposing good and bad experience we are left with , but it seems highly unlikely to be an actual entity or occurrence in our reality , which of course has not and could never be substantiated nor proven as truth anyways , so whats the point in holding such unsubstantiated beliefs , other than for the purpose of artificially ramping up ones own value and importance in the world , essentially patting ones self on the back for the things they themselves determined to be worthy of such treatment and regard, like a parasite feeding on itself , whilst reminding itself how it's doing such a good job for completing these self created subjective tasks . To summarize in layman terms, simply put , I think mankind just gets off (for lack of a better phrase) pretending its super special cause it makes them feel better about their own existence , thus nothing more than a shallow self serving fabrication which exists only as a fantasy and figment of the human mind bound by that actively running subconscious belief , influencing our conscious interpretations of what ultimately is or is not .

I don't see it as karma. I call it facilitating the world. There is more ways to do this than good deeds. Like for example stay off your damn phones on the road, don't tailgate, and slow down at a nice smooth rate so that traffic behind you can move in a nice flow instead of stop and go. That is facilitating traffic, and if more people did it I won't have a stroke one day. But your not going to. Your "bad Karma" is going to cause me to have a stroke one day because you didn't help facilitate traffic. I drive for an hour to and from work every day. Please for the love of all that is good facilitate traffic.
