Just finished her book. Absolutely beautiful and mirrors my life to such an extent. I too lost my sister and am the only one left. No relatives and I devastatingly lost my little shih tzu a month before covid broke after twelve years of pure love. I never realised the extent of joy and purpose and living in the moment and laughter and compass a little dog gives you. Thank you Emily. Thank you for letting me know I’m not alone. Thank you 🙏

I lost my mother very suddenly in June 2007, she was the full time career of my Dad who had had 2 strokes and had memory issues. As a family sadly we had to put him in a nursing home. The following year July 2008 my husband was the innocent victim of a car crash, and died at the scene. Our life still in turmoil, when my Dad died the same year in November. I too wanted to die, but except for one thing, my mum and dad had a rescue Yorkshire Terrier who needed caring for. And for the next 3 years he was the reason for me to get out of bed every day. Until he sadly passed away. I’ve since had 2 grand-dogs who I get to look after very often. And I have to say. Doggies have saved my life and those of my families.

Emily is just amazing. I've been listening to her podcast Walking the Dog, and her chats she has with her guests are so honest and heartwarming. I had to watch this so I can put a face to her voice - and Raymond...what a cutie! I've never seen a dog like him before!
