Absolutely great idea and this would make easier traffic

8:18 - Ban cars to move more freely... makes sense. What if I told you the problem isn't vehicles and there's a ton of evidence to support that? Most studies agree the problem is three things - 1: the way we designed our cities, 2: human error while driving, 3: the design of vehicles. As the Great Jedi Master Taylor Williams once said "Infrastructure problems are design problems. Anybody that disagrees is most likely trying to make money off of you." And not to get too preachy, but why is it that almost every attempt at solving societies problems begin with forfeiting privacy, independence and autonomy? collectivism.
@panhradu5 жыл бұрын
And he is talking about design of infrastructure. Im also against collectivism, but im sick of cars not only driving everywhere, but also parking everywhere. The problem with ownership of things is also that we are not able to deal with waste anymore. Goverments succesfully hide waste from people, by diging it underground or sending it to poor countries, but there is a limit for it. If u think that ovnership is giving you some kind of freedom you live in illusion. First of all, you are not free if you believe that the freedom depends on things araund you. Second, most used tools are fullfiled by controling technologies and systems. Phones, laptops, even the cars are watching u these days. So dont worry, u dont use freedom by collectivised transportation, u already lost it.

He msut clearly talk about USA because there are many european countries that invest a lot in public transportation like busses and trains. But believe me we wont see "his" future in the next 30 years because as long as there is oil on the planet there will be people that want to drive fancy cars or want to be independet from the driving schedule of the puplic transportation. We are far awy from a future PT that is mentiond in this video.
@vsevks34263 жыл бұрын
This way of transportation is super inefficient. It still requires too much place, as much as a personal car. So it is just a bug on a city road, that gain from city‘s road system

why do you buy a car? one of the biggest reason is because the car provide you a private space on the go. There are so many things you can do with a private car.

Yawn. Another tech bro reinventing the wheel and missing the whole point of fixed route service.
@troyengel75816 жыл бұрын
Why use a fixed route service that requires you to walk a mile to a stop, and then have to wait 20 more minutes for the next bus, when you can use an app that will be to you in a few minutes and drop you closer to your final destination? They are also optimizing current taxi services that will increase profit, reduce empty seats, and reduce costs for riders when sharing a taxi. The other problem with fixed route services is that 75% of the time those huge buses are running at 10 to 15% passenger capacity. Massive inefficiencies. Larger numbers of smaller vehicles are shown to be cheaper and more efficient in their use of seats. Dynamic routes also means you don't stop at a fixed bus stop, open the door, wait for no one to get off, and then for no one to get on. There are certainly problems with this model but it's a big step in the right direction. Fixed route service can be replaced and is not ideal any more. There was a point to it for a long time but there is technology that make it more efficient, cheaper, and more comfortable.

Goshawk716 That means such a service would lead to even more congestions due to the amount of new companies entering the market where each individual orders different service providers. Fixed routes make sense. People should use bikes, scooters etc for their last mile...

I don’t think it’s the answer to the traffic jams in cities. There is no a magic formal for tackling transportation problems. However , mix of majors can do so . Ban cars isn’t a solution. By the way I don’t drive since 10 years ago.
@theomer80602 жыл бұрын
Maybe big cities will ban the private cars but i think solution is not shuttle(it is useful sometimes but not for everytime.). I think we should have an AI to understand which time and location will need more transportation then increase the number of buses at least 1.5X then traffic will be less problem for us. What do you think?

Oren and Daniel , what a pair Exploit new immigrants by "helping" them get a Mercedez minivan for a lease of ONLY $ 450 per week, paying less and less as new drivers join the 80 K plus drivers pool in NYC , they pay hourly rates as low as $ 17 for SUV drivers and as low as $ 12 per hour fot sedan drivers , and even that they pay hourly , the claim is they only take 10 % commision , real exploiters of people in need of an income. Hopefully the drivers will wake up.
