I live with this.. Everyday.. Every single day.. Please be nice to people.. One word can make my day from good to suicidal.. 💔

It's not about people being nice to you it's about you and how you handle yourself when people are not nice to you. In fact you should look at it as a blessing every time someone is not nice to you because now you get to work on keeping yourself in check when that happens and changing the way you normally react to that and get better practice in reacting differently and in a more healthy way when people are mean to you.

Excellent work with this video Varun. I am a college instructor and am going to use this today to teach about personality disorders, namingly BPD. Thank you for your courage in making this. Best, Jess

Thank you so much Varun! You're words aren't just useful for BPD, but for all of us who deal with mental health challenges. You also helped me get better insight to a friend of mine who does deal with BPD, and a little more compassion!

Thank you for this video. I was diagnosed with BPD 3 years ago. I am also a recovering alcoholic. I have struggled with emotional regulation for years. It has gotten a lot better since being in recovery for my alcoholism, but it seems like during the colder months, I randomly get hit with a mental health crisis. Lately I have just felt like giving up. I don't want to feel these big emotions or feel empty inside anymore. Your speech gave me hope. I always have to remind myself that these feelings won't last forever, but some days it is just so hard to deal with. I have come a long way since even a year ago. Thank you for the reminder to keep looking at my progress and not what I am expirencing today.

Thank you so much for talking about changing the definition of success in healing bpd or making progress. That is a really important part of my struggle with "not giving up" ❤

Thank you for the hope. I have diagnosed with major depression since 14 years ago. Same thing, I tried all methods and medications and nothing worked. It just got worse. A week ago, I got diagnosed with BPD and was offered DBT. I have spent SO MUCH for treatments since 14 years ago, I'd be lying if I'm not tired and tired and feel like giving up everyday. My mental health and pocket is running dry ngl haha;; I'm very scared of the new treatment as I have tried lots of different treatments before and failed. I hope this.... new journey worth my time and spending. I also hope I wont lose to my voice to end things midway... And I hope I wont feel alone in the process.

Good talk. Thank you. My mom has BPD and we do not know how to get her to therapy. She needs to move forward rather than be stuck in victim and blame. Not be perfect, just accountable.

I very much appreciate the ideas and feelings you shared but one thing made me feel hugely disappointed and pulled me back from sharing this video with my family and friends. That is the fact that ever since BPD became evident in me, my life has only gone downhill and worse. There is no long term progress, my BPD is not quiet. In fact the beacon of hope I was has now started to dim significantly. After 30,i am nothing and nowhere near what my ambitious childhood self imagined. When you started to talk about how to overcome the setbacks and recover hope, I was listening eagerly. But what I received was a validation to my defeatist thoughts.😢

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Please find a DBT therapist. When I get a BPD client iny addiction practice I always help them get hooked up with a good DBT therapist. It changes their world. Remember that Perfection is the Enemy of Good. I have been in recovery from BPD for 26 years. Not every day of course, and not ever minute. Buu
