"If only we could put our heads and minds together we could all end poverty". We could probably achieve anything.............. if we were able to do this impossible feat.

Point out all the problems that poor nations and people have to deal with........... then tell us that if only we would put our own personal lives, wealth, and dreams on hold indefinitely so that we can assist these billions of people that can't help themselves, we could solve their problem of poverty and sickness........ As long as we remain their servants and caregivers forever more. Got it?

As noble as are such efforts, the cause of poverty is systemic. Poverty is one of the tragic outcomes of our systems of law and taxation. This connection was identified in the late 19th century by the American journalist, political economist and social philosopher Henry George. From his predecessors and by his own insights, Henry George traced the cause of poverty to monopoly privilege, particularly landed privilege, the conversion of earth -- our commons -- into private property. For this privilege those who control land and natural resources return to society a small portion of the full value of the benefits received. Every parcel or tract of land has some potential annual value, a value that is not created by the individual owner but by the community's investment in infrastructure and other public goods and services. Henry George argued simply that this value should be publicly collected in lieu of taxes on the incomes we earn, the goods we produce and the commerce in which we engage. Specific political action is required to counter trends occurring in many countries. Poverty is increasing in the United States because the laws of the land have resulted in an escalating concentration of income and wealth. This concentration is caused by a public revenue system that rewards "rent-seeking" behavior over producing goods and services. So, what about our equal birthright to the fruits of nature, to what is provided for all to use but which is monopolized by the few in every country.

There is more wrong with the statements you have mentions then is right but rather than pick this theory apart, just point out where in the history of mankind has this ever been employed successfully? Tell us how a successfully run and managed farm owned privately for instance would produce better if everyone and nobody owned it and therefore nobody had any real skin in the game to drive it's success? They tried this in South Africa, how well has that worked out?
@roylangston43053 жыл бұрын
@@erth2man Nonsense. They didn't try the geoist solution in South Africa, nowhere close. The closest major test has been Hong Kong, which has had no private landowning for over 160 years. China (under Deng Xiaoping) adopted the HK system about 40 years ago, and that has been the whole secret of China's explosive economic growth and prosperity. Try to inform yourself at least a tiny bit before commenting and exposing your ignorance.

@@roylangston4305Then explain why China buys so much produce from our privately owned and controlled farmers here in the USofA smart guy? Get back to me on how successful China's system is when they can produce better and more efficiently than we consistently do right here in our own mid west. Until then you can stick to your own ignorance.

We always going to have poor people around us. Plus you can’t reduce poverty taking from others! There is a lot of people who are poor who cause poverty upon themselves.

Many people see abortion as a human rights violation and not a right 💔😢 A right to life… what is more basic than that? Let’s prevent pregnancies instead of putting women through the trauma of unwanted pregnancies or abortions…

A lot of poverty (certainly not all) happens because of poor personal decision making. Trying to fix this will involve taking away freedom and liberty, do you see where this is going?

People's decisions usually make sense when seen in context. Altering the context can have beneficial effects.

It takes 2 to make a baby. there are only certain circumstances a woman should be able to have an abortion. what we need to be working on, is a way to have a fraternity test, early on in the pregnancy. that way the father and mother can both agree if they want to have an abortion. I personally would never kill my kid and would kill anybody who killed my kid.

No, abortion should be legal but the father should also have the freedom to legally just walk away.
