Making more minds up to move: Bente Klarlund at TEDxCopenhagen 2012

In Denmark, physical inactivity is considered the number two actual cause of death. Physically inactive people have a life span, which is 5 years shorter than that of a physically active individual.
We need a political statement and laws about "health consequences". Just as politicians always should consider gender and ethnic issues, they should also consider health aspects, including how infrastructure and architecture may influence the population's physical activity level. To win the war against physical inactivity, we must close the gap between science and practice.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
