If we’re talking about average people than fair but several doctors have told tua he shouldn’t play again this season at best
@SonofStormblessed2 сағат бұрын
The whole “if I was in his shoes” argument is complete garbage. If you were in his shoes you’d do the same thing he is doing, you’d come and play, just like 99% of all players try to come back from every injury they have. The stench of self righteous garbage is overwhelming with this conversation.

I don't wish any harm to Tua. But given all we have seen and know, I have taken my empathy for him as far as I can go. So if he is permanently injured or worse playing ball, it was what HE wanted to do. So, stop the game long enough to safely and properly clear him from the field. And let the 2nd string qb finish the game.

It won't help him much. Look at his last hit. He was basically softly caught by the defender. The defender didn't even hit him, he ran into the defender. The issue is that the brain is not attached to the skull. The brain is suspended in a fluid called cerebrospinal fluid. Concussions are the brain hitting against the skull. For some reason not yet fully understood, some individuals have a tendency to get concussions much more easily than most. He's one of them. So in his case, it won't help much. That's not to say that others won't benefit from them. And lastly, he supposedly was already wearing a helmet considered superior to the guardian helmet in preventing concussions. And it still didn't help him.

Tagovailoa means nothing to me. If he ends up severely brain-damaged it's on him. I remember when Patrick Willis retired several years ago. He had been an All-Pro linebacker for San Francisco, and just walked away from the game while he was still able. And I thought what an intelligent young man. And I hope nothing bad happens to Tagovailoa, but if it does it's on him.

It is his choice…but after football he is going to look back to the NFL and the players ‘union for health care. Those types of hits to his brain cannot be good to his body.

Dude said they don't look at boxers or hockey players the same way? Thats a flat out lie.
@monsieurwolf6122Сағат бұрын
The problem is that these NFL dudes are a danger to themselves and will gladly die to have the opportunity to be great. I think it's the league's responsibility to understand the ego these dudes have and force them out when they are a clear danger to themselves. You wouldn't let a mental health patient run around because 'It's their choice to be free' when they are clearly a danger, this is no different.

Tua is FRAGILE! No difference if he walks out clean and unconcussed today. He has had more than one so his brain or head is more fragile than some others.
@arbitScaleModels53 минут бұрын
Tua needs to learn how to fall. This is a skill which needs 1,000 repetitions until it is second nature. Unlike Tom Brady who was notoriously hard to hit, Tua obviously has no instinct for self preservation. Linebackers said Brady "just melted away" when they tried to hit him. But Tua stiffens up like a dear in headlights.

Stop telling Tua what to do, especially given you would do the same exact thing if you were in his shoes, don’t pretend otherwise. If I had tens of millions in the bank and an insurance policy paying me out 10s of millions I would retire. Hes made enough money for generations of his family to survive.
@junehanzawa5165Сағат бұрын
He loves those $167 millions guaranteed. And that's understandable. For both he and his family. But athletes in general don't see bad things until it's too late. The difference here is how severe his symptoms are and how easily he gets concussed. That's what so concerning. Bringing in the examples of past players who got concussed on nasty hits, don't apply. These are hits that over 99.9% of players won't get a concussion from. Especially that last hit which can't even be concidered a true hit. He was basically softly caught by the defender.

I was a huge TUA supporter back when everyone was trashing him but now...TUA can get concussed by a paper cup blowing out of the stands. He has the weakest arm in the NFL and cannot beat The Bills or win a playoff game. The Dolphins wasted hundreds of millions on both him and all the talent being wasted around him, and yet they didn't groom a capable backup for the inevitability that Tua would get hurt again. He shows back up they win a few meaningless games and then they watch the playoffs at home in their mansions as usual.
