What's the most mind-blowing about it to me is it's the same damn enemy in the exact same spot with the same moveset every time, then an invader comes in, what SHOULD be a nice change of pace, one would think...but man...I guess some numb nuts out there really afraid of having any sort of situation be out of their control if they can help it. My favorite are the damn reddit posts about people flipping out over npc invaders, thinking they're human 😂 full on novels about their disdain for something literally coded into every playthrough 😂😂

The fact that 2 complete noobs can keep an experienced invader on the backfoot for that long is just ridiculous. There is literally zero need for skill expression in this game. For the longest time I wasn't playing DS3, because I was afraid it'd mess with my ER muscle memory, but at this point I've just given up and gone back, and I'm having a blast. I know that's not really feasible for content creators, but yeah....

It is the point of the mechanic and to be honest he was on the backfoot for way longer than he should've been. 3:40 jee did over 900 damage to the phantom, taking over half his health with one hit of the trusting sword. He could've just continued with that and killed him easily but instead he chooses to go greatbow and run away. There's no one can convince me he didn't draw this out for content because meta nerds just love hearing about how unfair it is for invaders out there. I invade regularly and win well over half my invasions, that is still winning too many in my mind and I don't even use meta. Some invaders are a perfect match for gankers to be honest.

On one hand, I can see how the jaw group are annoying.. but at the same time, there are super skilled invaders with literally every item at their disposal either through cheating or saves, so they have no risk in wasting all their items, but legitimate players just wanting to play with a friend don't have that luxury. Obviously, the vice versa can also be the case. I just kinda think if you're going to be online, you should never cheat in items or reload saves. Just feels weird to do that. I'm also not saying this creator does this, but it wouldn't surprise me. It seems like a common thing to do.

It is incredibly common, with reason for it. The truth is, skill expression can only take you so far, with how unbalanced the game truly is. The odds are stacked like no other game has been before this. In past games, Dried Finger was a point of no return; if you used it, you couldn't undo the effects until you died, and it upped the limit from two invaders to three in some areas. Here, Taunter's Tongue, this game's version of Dried Finger, can be toggled on and off at will to invite and trap invaders at the initiative of the host. The host has far more ways to stack odds in their favor. I could list all the advantages, but then this small rant could be as big as a prelude to a thesis! So, instead, I will skip to the conclusion, by saying that invaders dupe items amongst friends online in order to gain what small amount of advantages are enough to balance the weight of the many, many, MANY advantages the host side very much enjoys.

@@Chris-re3lv Yeah, I know the host has advantages, as it is intended to be that way, but this problem is especially pronounced with what I'll dub "honest hosts." Just some dudes playing with new stuff they find, then an invader comes in with every item and just obliterates them and loses nothing because they'll just reload a save, meanwhile if the host tries to use items, they'll either have to farm or start a new playthrough to get them back. I know an invader can't know, but just wish it wasn't this way. It will always be though, due to design and such. Heck, even if I invade and be honest about it, some dude in bullgoats might be there ready to spam me.

@@Gandhi_Physique Hmm, well, the thing is, the host is playing online, so by default, they do have access to the same resources that the invaders do, namely online media, to ask for dupes of the exact same items. I know it's not a perfect solution, since invaders are those who went ahead in the game to collect their version of advantages, but host will always have numbers on their side, due to how the online multiplayer works, unless host decides to use TT on their own, but in that case, it simply isn't the same situation anymore.

I don't do pvp that much, and if i do, i do it at the coliseums. If you get ganked trying to invade, then do it with people who also want to pvp. I don't get why people bitch about getting wrecked when trying to invade, its a game mechanic designed to stall the coop players or annoy them and i'm all down for that but don't cry when you get stomped because it wasn't a fair fight lmao

Just because the sadistic director put a feature in the game, does not automatically make it a good one. He also approved stats on equipment and skills and those get balanced through patches all the time . Shouldnt they be "working as intended" as well? Invasions should be a choice, end of story. let the invader community play amongst themselves and leave those who want nothing to do with it...out of it.
