Thanks for the history, Erik. I was supposed to be in Ireland next week, but had to postpone my trip to next year. I'm hoping to go in the spring if things are open again. The Teeling distillery and the Jameson Experience are on the Dublin agenda.

Teeling is one of my favourite Irish distilleries:) like the new ones as well - Blackpitts and Pinot Noir

Teeling makes some epic stuff, but I wonder if the magic will still be there when the Cooley stock runs out. I will say that I have a number of great Teeling releases that I have come to love.

Love the to hear more about whats going on in Ireland. Got to say I bought a bottle of the Teelings small batch Irish whisky finished in rum casks, bottled 04/19, and it wasn't very nice! Maybe I was just unlucky but it was fiery, thin and no discernible rum influence. It was £38 reduced to £21 in Tesco, but I'd steer clear until they start bottling from the new distillery rather than the Cooley remnants for that one.

My first review will be of the Small Batch and it DEFINITELY has rum character. Sounds like you got a bad bottle.

Nice video! I bought a couple bottles of the small batch when it went on sale for $28. Made for a great daily sipper. I wonder how the single malt would hold up in a blind taste test against green spot.

They are very different. A better comparison might be with another Irish single malt such as Knappogue 12 or Bushmills 10. I would prefer Greenspot against either of those.

Erik, Teeling are doing a great job. I think their Master Distiller is an Oregon man! Looking forward to your thoughts on the Single grain & the pot Still. The Single Malt is lurvly! :)

I popped the cork on the Small Batch last night and LOVED IT! If the others are at least as good as the Small Batch, the next two weeks of drinking will be AWESOME!

Erik have you looked at JJ Corry yet - well worth a review i have a bottle of The Gael batch 1 and want to explore more of their offerings

I've not seen JJ Corry in any local stores nor heard anyone mention them before. I'm trying ti wrap up this current series by the beginning of November and I've got plenty of bottles. But I plan to do another Irish Whiskey Marathon in 2021 so maybe I'll look into them then.

No, some are double distilled.
