Teen activist Marley Dias on her new mission for racial harmony

Marley Dias is an author, public speaker and the youngest member of Forbes' "30 Under 30" this year -- and she's not even in high school yet. At the age of 10, Marley started a campaign called #1000blackgirlbooks because she was frustrated that she hadn't read books in school featuring black main characters. She set out to collect books featuring characters that look like her and received more than 11,000. Now, the 13-year-old has a new book called "Marley Dias Gets it Done and So Can You!" Dias joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss what she hopes to achieve with her book and why she launched a campaign about racial harmony.

It's Funny how( some) grown men try to put down a little Black smart girl. They will try their hardest to put you down & stop your flow. What a well-spoken young woman my daughter and I'm Mexican she's 6 years old and told me to look this girl up and that I'm just in awe that my daughter will be beautiful I love it also when I was in my young 20s I had a four-year-old and I to realize that there weren't enough books with diversity with young black girls in them and I bought my kids a book I'm a little black girl and her name is summer Jackson and now my kids love that book and I just wanted black people to be unnatural thing in my daughter's lives because you're so much racism out there and even me being Mexican there's a lot of us who believe that we're better than black people and I just really don't like that narrative cuz it's fault will all great and some of us are bad
