It’s not legal to release a minor’s name so it’s disgusting that the press showed pics of the home & let everyone know the home owner is the shooter’s father. I’m not defending the shooter at all, but just pointing out the lack of integrity of the media. A decade+ ago a reporter would be immediately fired & may never get another job in the industry if they accidentally included identifying info that was sent to the public.

Mental health issues can profoundly impact individuals, often leading to tragic decisions. The case in question serves as a stark reminder that the struggles faced by young people are often invisible. It's crucial for parents to pay closer attention to their children's behaviors and mental well-being, as these challenges usually develop over time. Recognizing and addressing these needs early on can make a significant difference in supporting their emotional health.

Family of boy who drowned sues Houston Racquet Club The family of a 4-year-old boy who drowned this summer at the Houston Racquet Club filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the club and four staff members Thursday, saying the facility failed to provide proper adult supervision and adequately trained life guards. The suit claims John and his brother were at their second day of camp when John's body was discovered floating in the pool. Workers didn't know his name or have any form of identification on him, the suit claims. Officials had also wrongly told the boy's mother her it was her eldest son who had died, according to the lawsuit. "She went to identify his body at the hospital," Marrs said. "She was in total morbid shock."

Stop with the selective reporting. Handguns are EVERYWHERE. Asking how a kid got their hands on a gun is stupid. Handguns are for self-protection, and by nature, designed to be used in emergencies. That means accessed quickly. You can't put then inside devices that take 1-2 minutes to access when seconds count. While devices exist that can open quickly, they tend to be electronic and could fail or stop another family member from accessing it to protect themselves due to fingerprint limitations.
@mercuryangel5632Ай бұрын
Anyone, especially parents, who give access to guns, including letting the kids know where the keys are to open a gun case is FULLY RESPONSIBLE if a tragedy like this happens. FULLY RESPONSIBLE AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW!

From a fellow Puerto Rican here: in my homeland the process to legally own a gun is a LOT more rigorous than here in the continental US. Even worse: depending on what state you live, pretty much anyone can acquire a gun without a legal background check, even buy it at a regular retail store like Walmart. Of course, any single time a massive shooting like this occurs, talks about proper gun control rise up again...only to be silenced in Congress by people on both sides of the aisle either members of (or just plain bought by) the almighty NRA. As always, it's "thoughts and prayers" and move on, there's nothing to see here (unless tragedy hits any of their own kin, that is).

@@TommyMuriel Just gonna throw this in here. Idk if you meant it to be misleading or you just don't know, but no. You cannot buy a gun at Wal-Mart without a background check. Only private sales person-to-person do not require it. Any retailer selling firearms is subject to the ATF and any person buying a firearm from a retailer like Wal-Mart must fill out federal form 4473 and go through a federal background check. Those regulations as mentioned are *federal* so it doesn't matter which state you live in.
