Gods, I have so much of this episode memorized. Absolute fucking icon. I would wager that junior prom refers to high school juniors. For those who aren't familiar with the US school system, your junior year is your third (and second-to-last) year of high school. Typically, only seniors (those in their final year of high school) can attend prom unless they invite someone from a lower grade. So junior prom could refer to a prom meant specifically for those in their junior year -- a "you're almost there" kind of party.

Growing up, I realized Robin was probably right about Kitten and Fang being a bad couple. We don't know for sure, but it sure would be creepy if it turned out he was already an adult dating someone who isn't out of high school yet.

Killer Moth is a notable Batman villain. He initially branded himself as an “anti-Batman”, saving criminals from police, having similar gadgets even a Mothmobile and Moth signal to alert him. He initially had no powers has turned into a demon moth for a while. His daughter is completely original to the show. He’s one of the lesser known Batman villains along side Condiment King, 10 eyed man, Kite Man, Calendar Man, etc. sometimes they get reinvented to be more interesting.

@@brianrecinos3914Well, there are bunch that are marketed as an “anti-Batman”, there’s the Batman Who Laughs though many jokingly refer to him as “Batman who tries too hard”. Then there’s Owlman, a version of Bruce Wayne’s older brother Thomas Wayne Jr. who has a nihilistic world view, the best depiction of this character so far comes in the film Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.

I almost felt bad for him when I first saw him. Like Jinx, it's easy to see why someone like him would have a hard time believing anyone would accept them as a hero. Spiderman only somewhat succeeded at first because he at least looked like a human in a suit despite his unnatural abilities. The same went for batman.

And now we're finally on the actual Robin/Starfire romance plot. Their interactions is going to be a treat to wait for. And it's hilarious kind of jealosy episode, I'm so glad the creators went into imitating 2000's anime style, the expressions made the episode much funnier and meme-worthy. Besides, it's great the ending didn't go to typical "ruining the moment" to strech things and Robin actually asked Starfire to dance.

Date with Destiny is one of my favorite episodes. This shows Robin, Kitten and Starfire's interactions with each other. Starfire and Kitten's fight at the prom was awesome and freaking hilarious. The face expressions were very funny 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣

16:53 - 17:06 One of the many, many reasons I love this show is that it portrays Robin in a very positive light when in the past he was usually treated as the definition of an annoying sidekick. Here, the fact that a teen girl immediately thinks of him as attractive really shows that the writers knew he deserved to be portrayed as such even before he became an adult and assumed the identity of Nightwing. As you can tell, yes, he was my sexual awakening thanks to this show. I love knights in shining armor, and the fact that the writers allowed him to have a genuine romance, unlike Batman, definitely helped.

Control Freak can theoretically be a TERRIFYING villain. Think of any horrific monstrosity you’ve seen on TV. Xenomorphs, Demogorgons, Daleks from Doctor Who, any monsters from Regular Show or Courage the Cowardly Dog. Control Freak can bring it to life. I’m not complaining necessarily, but why of all Batman’s secondary villains did they choose to include Killer Moth? Such a strange inclusion. Still loved it. Caught me completely off guard first time I watched this show.

Are they not familiar with JuniorProm?? It's Junior prom for junior prom, aka 11th grade. Senior prom or senior ball is for 12th grade. I think most schools don't have two proms in the same year, but prom is usually called by junior prom or just prom. There is no 8th grade prom. May a middle school homecoming dance, halloween dance, or xmas dance.
