That reminds me of a riddle my mom used to tell me when I was little. "When is a door not a door?" and the answer is..."When it's ajar." It's meant to be a joke, but I wonder if the meaning here is the same. They've opened a door, the trailers tell us. The question is what's on the other side?

That's what I thought. I looked at it and I read that comment and thought I was going crazy. I'm not deaf, but I've been teaching myself sign and I didn't feel competent enough to say, "NOPE." I thought they were signing closed at first and it didn't make sense to me. Then someone said door. I definitely have a lot left to teach myself.

At first I thought it was "when the door opens. Don't close it." some words that are signing in the same way. I don't realize that it is a riddle, lol. yay, we are the awesome fandom!

Their sign confuses me. Open/close and door are similar, but open and close are action verb, but those students do not use any action verb in sign yet! Not and Don't are the same sign, yeah. Also, they use ASL without signing the articles and to be verbs instead of Signed Exact English (SEE---signing every words include articles and to be verbs and etc. If they use SEE, then we will know what exact line is. By the way, good job for teaching yourself how to sign. (:

I can't be precise because I'm only learning, but the first girl says "When is a door not a door" the coach signs something similar, but i'm not sure if it is the same as they always cut away before he finishes. I'm gonna ask my teacher tomorrow :) Also it has been renewed for a fourth season

They are not answering her question. They just sign the riddle repeatedly, so Stiles needs to figure out what is the answer for the riddle. I am deaf and I know ASL.

Could't this also be translated as the girl saying "do not close the door" and everyone responding "do not open the door." In ASL door, open and close are very similar.

I think this is what deaton meant when he said to allison, scott, and stiles about the sacrificing. They will have a permanent darkness around their heart.

I'm learning ASL at school and I've been taught that whenever you have a question, the question should be at the end. They sign "When door not door" but shouldn't it be "Door not door when"? That's why it makes me think that it's not a question and that they're answering the riddle..
