This video should be preserved in library of congress. Our society can refer back to this incredibly rare family whose children are utterly normal. No smart phones, no media, no societal damage. We have lost so much as a people in our participation in a society ruled by greed and fear. I propose a MacArthur Grant be presented to the Lewis Family. What beautiful girls.

Did the mother pass on some kind of genetic problems? Thought maybe one of the parents is Mongolian or Eskimo maybe? But that doesn't seem to be the case.
@darlenefraser30222 жыл бұрын
Definitely Inuit (Eskimos). You are actually right on two fronts, the Inuit are thought to be Mongolians that crossed the land bridge so many years ago.

Trapping is a lot of work. You have to set in difficult terrain where people won't or can't go. And you have to check traps daily or more if you have high predation on the species your out for. Coyotes ruin hides. And your gear has to be tagged and in good shape. You're gonna run into wildlife management at some point guaranteed. And they have a lot of power. More than just about any other law enforcement. They can take all your gear. Your vehicle. They can hand out huge fines. They can take away your hunting/fishing/Trapping privilege for a season or a life time

People romanticize this life style, basically because they live in the city with no real bush life skills. Having the privilege of staying on a trapline and a hunting camp it always amazes me how much work ANY task is. Taking a shit at -25 is a big deal, dropping a spruce tree without a screw up is a big deal. Prewarming the saw is a big deal, because if you snap the recoil pull start your fucked till its fixed, rolling an ankle is big panic stuff, anyways, everything is an incredible amount of work. And yet like a sucker I keep coming back, probably because hearing the elk bugle and the wolves zero in on the elk I just shot makes me piss myself with excitement.

I would like to see any of those invested in those social signals in this environment. And I may also remind them that due to their lackadaisical participation in the essentials, they may still end up there.

I personally don't think it wise to have your kids leaving in the stone age having everything you need in a store
@darlenefraser30222 жыл бұрын
Well, then your kids will starve in a survival situation. So, if something happens to the food supply, those ones you are disparaging have their own way to survive and they will live while yours won’t. See what happened to our food supplies in those trustworthy stores at the beginning of COVID?

One day to my little smallholding the city struggles will pay off to the end result. I applaud these people and their way of life and their skills they deserve respect. Push comes to shove maybe not in our lifetimes but something will happen with the world and it will go to shit and watch the world crumble and people die from not even knowing how to grow a carrot or catch a fish these are skills that should be taught in schools not fucking french and garlic and other nonsense. Survival skills! 👌
