Nice work. Amazing that any manufacturer will release a complicated product without tutorial videos. I mean look at NI Maschine and a full 20 tutorial set. That was the only reason I bought it because I could see how to use it.

very true. I'm watching these over again because my op-1 will arrive in 2 days! you're totally right though, good marketing tactic

+Lea Mine is "out for delivery" today (UPS). Ive already transcribed all 11 videos in this series and continue to watch them still. Good marketing tactic I agree but even moreso (even) better customer support. Very helpful video series indeed.

+Wavestrike Electronics Agreed. The only reason I could get an idea of the possibilities of the OP-1 (its potential) was this video series. I do read manuals, but seeing it in practice first was a big help.

thats probably because everyone who reviews these things is essentially doing that for free

Thank you for these very helpful videos! Really love my new OP-1 so far and the cute sense of humor you have with apply FX is loads of fun. Love seeing the insides of a cow when tweaking FX.

How do I get the : OBOE, OCTAVE, OKARINA, etc. voices on the SYNTH engine? My OP doesn't have those. : (
@JoeeKickass993 жыл бұрын
My synth mode is not playing. What can i do ?
@evolutionrhythm44167 жыл бұрын
Shame the OP-1 dosn't seem to have anyway to actually program a patch from the ground up. It would be nice to be able to select Osc 1 - sine wave- Osc2 Triangle etc like on a basic synth. Though I've read these limitations are there so the user " dosn't get distracted " and actually learn more about the synthesis of sound.
@littlesnowflakepunk8556 жыл бұрын
evolution rhythm Dsynth has something like that, a lot more ground-up synthesis than the other engines
@ianmathews6 жыл бұрын
You can use any synth and record in as a sampler patch. Not pure on board synthesis, but come on, I bought this to focus!
@odd18766 жыл бұрын
As an extremely easily distracted musician, I fully embrace the simplicity!

is there piano and guitar sounds?
@teenageengineering6 жыл бұрын
there are sampled sounds and also a string synth engine that can sound like string instruments.
@Teddyrobinson7 жыл бұрын
Is it possible to add two effects to a sound? If not, is there an option to resample?
@teenageengineering7 жыл бұрын
Yes and yes. Each sound has one effect slot, as well as a master effect applied to everything. When both are applied you can resample and further manipulate the sound in the sampler engine. Some sections in the manual to check out: Synth effect: teenage.engineering/guides/op-1/synthesizer-mode#5.5 Master effect: teenage.engineering/guides/op-1/mixer#9.5 Resample: teenage.engineering/guides/op-1/recording-external-sources#12.1

please talk about the keyboard it self I want to know if it is reliable or comfortable and if one of them break what should I do ...
@teenageengineering4 жыл бұрын
hello sleepless, thank you for your comment. the keyboard has a flat response and the keys have a distinct travel. it's not velocity sensitive but OP-1 does accept external velocity over midi, from any externally connected keyboard. it's not a grand piano but it's battery powered and it does fit in a backpack. it is very durable and also easy to fix should something break. iFixit sells all spare parts: www.ifixit.com/Device/Teenage_Engineering_OP-1

I just bought a used one with two dead keys seq and COM, a new keyboard kit on its way to me from iFixit, can’t wait to access that sequencer! Awesome that TE make these parts accessible!

Hello! Is there a hold\latch function in synth? Im looking for a way to play a sustained sound wich could be modulated individualy with effects and LFO. Is there any way?
@Tertium86 жыл бұрын
Just bought one and of course it’s brilliant but when I shift between presets, it takes 4 notches until it reacts. Is this normal? The ones on KZbin look like they are instantly responsive.

Hey I know it's been a while but I saw this and noticed the same thing with mine. Double checked the video and can see turning in small quick circles, roughly 1/10ths around when he is scrolling between single options. I believe it is standard.

Can you save your own synth presets?
@housepetsoup8 жыл бұрын
+axyl rock yep hold down whichever of the eight synth selections you're on and a saving circle will appear. takes about 5 seconds to save. once it shows you a green checkmark, let go and it will be saved in a folder called snapshot
