I know it might not make a big difference to mention this, but in the documentary, the police commissioner heading the case explained that the media portrayed the so-called minor as the worst offender among the group. This was done to ensure he didn’t escape punishment, though the commissioner clarified this portrayal wasn’t accurate. Nevertheless, he was eventually let off, highlighting a dark reality of our country. Another reason why crime rate is increasing is because of movies that depict violence. I am completely against movies that perpetuate any kind of crime; too many viewers fail to distinguish between fiction and reality. One case study I covered during my journalism studies noted that rural India consumes more television than the middle and upper classes. As a result, these viewers are more susceptible to influence because they often lack the education needed to analyze media content critically.

I think the killer in this episode was thinking he was Khudiram Bose, who was a freedom fighter killed by the British. This guy is an example of misplaced compassion and identity. It's very important that our present generation knows about our great freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Khudiram Bose, etc. They must be educated with their examples in the current context and the relevance and consequences in their personal and larger social lives. Such people need counseling. U guys are doing Gr8 job! U guys ROCK!!!!!

This incident happened about 2 walking mins away from my flat. Though I was just 2 years old when the incident happened but I am well aware of what happened that day. Sajal's apartment is still locked and unsold. One of my friends resides in the same building but at the 3rd floor.

I have an interesting update about Sajal. Up until 3 years ago, he was busy looking for prosthetic make up, guns & knives. All this along with a folder named “Papa” containing explicit images. There was also a folder called Therapy which had images of distorted thinking & one about liars. Kinda messed up to know that he’s still probably at it.

After some research I got to know that he was not a criminal from birth his mother step Neoti barui and step brother Kajal barui along with his biological that abused him indirectly and mentally and always would make him feel like an outcast ; he was separated from his own mother when he was only 8 years old and he had understood from a young age that my dad cheated on my mother and married my stepmother I think it is wrong to observe that he was not born in an abusive family his dad and his step mother and brother's behaviour with him had a bad impact on him and made him a criminal

To be honest ...step mother's can never become real mother. She would have been partial to his own son i feel. it's very normal thing. Maybe that's what made him rebellious and angry. Even once my brother lived in my maternal uncle's house for 2 years for educational reasons. And the way my maternal aunt treated my brother was awful. It's not always physical torture but mental one. She used to highly discriminate between her son and my brother. In winters she used to bathe my brother with cold water and her own son with hot water and made by brother do all the heavy work. He was very young and it really affected him later on mentally. He became more reserved and shy and afraid. And he never told it to my mother. Later my mother got to know about it from her cousin who saw it all.
