As they walked out that door, we saw the last of ABBA... or so we thought at the time. To think they returned FORTY years later with Voyage is remarkable ❤

To be very precise it was "only" 39 years (December 1982 till September 2021) ❤

I still get chills when they walk out like that, thinking it was the last. I feel so blessed to have survived their comeback with Voyage and to watch folks like you react to their music -- Now and Then Combined!!

@@paulogaray6666Same here.That exodus was symbolic and prophetic but to no one's awareness.I have combined this outro with the sound of the clock from LAAPTMR the closewr Visitors track.Devastating.But fortunately 'Goodbye was bye for now" even if it's 4 decades long.I'm GRATEFUL for the VOYAGE era!So cathactic and felt like oxygene supply.A kiss of life for me.

You are very right! "Under Attack" was released in December 1982 and became a minor UK success (#26). In UK they released the old song "Thank You For The Music" which had never been a single until then to promote the UK compilation album of the same name in November 1983, but it only managed to get to #33, so out of fashion ABBA had become.

There for sure many more great ones to go. A FANTASTIC one that isn't well known is called I Am the City. It has quickly become one of my favorites. It was recorded for the album that ABBA was working on when they called it quits. The song was not released until 1993 when it was included on More Abba Gold. Please give this one a try! Another great melody and super catchy!

Great channel, I’ve been enjoying your reactions. I think you would enjoy my favorite ABBA song “The Name Of The Game”. It is a rare case where each of the ladies take a verse on their own. You will be able to hear their vocal differences more clearly. Also Frida sings lead on another two you should enjoy “Knowing Me, Knowing You” and “I have Dream”.

My favourite group of all time. Keep going with the abba reactions. So many more brilliant songs by them to go. The winner takes its all is one of their very best, also I’ve been waiting for you is brilliant. Both of these showcase Agnetha’s incredible vocal talent. Also would love if you would do a reaction to Dire Straits doing Telegraph Road (alchemy live version) it’s a long song, but it’s something really special. Don’t miss out 🙂

Under Attack was ABBA's last official hit and music video, as the end of the video the fab four walk out into the light and fade out in 1982 presumably only to take a break from the group and pursue individual interests, never to return to the recording studio until aprox 40 years later with ABBA VOYAGE a new album and new concert experience. Looking forward to your reaction to two songs from this album 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don't Shut Me Down' Until then here is a link to a documentary that showcases exactly how the band won the Eurovision song contest with hit Waterloo, at the time perceived to be a one hit wonder. Then how the band exploded in Australia in a mad fever simultaneously with the advent of color television and a new music tv show. And from there ABBA fever became contagious and spread worldwide. Sit back relax and transport yourself to the 1970's in popular music's shiny joyful moment. Cheers Chase ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpu0g4edecxol8U

This song flopped so hard in ABBAs usual strongholds like the UK, australia and the rest of Europe. They didn't expect the outcome that they decided it's not fun anymore and quietly disbanded. But I love the synths and the vocoder used for the alien voice effect. Always ahead of their time
@ursgeiser65704 ай бұрын
I've asked myself that several times. After an interview with Börn in 2021, he was very disappointed about this flop. This was the so-called "i dot" for the break and actually the end (as far as I remember, the break was announced before the release). On the other hand, unfortunately ABBA - for fear of being "away from the window" - did not allow themselves a well-deserved longer time-out since 1972. There was simply too much coming together, especially privately after over 10 years of hard working together. Have fun with all kind of good music.
@alexioverdo52254 ай бұрын
@@ursgeiser6570 Actually no break was ever anounced officially at the time since there was no conscious intention but was decided to do a lil break for solo stuff until they finally drifted apart..In an interview i had read in UK press Nov.'82 while the band had visited London doing promoting for the double collection 'ABBA -The Singles the first 10 years" (both TDBYC/Underattack included), when asked if there would be another 10 years they kinda said(It was Agnetha i think) "don't know about another 10 but maybe if we could keep it for another two).UA single didn't fair so well for Abba compared to their past hits but their expensive double Album went again to no1 UK and went double platinum.
@alexioverdo52254 ай бұрын
@mikesmithson in 1983 Agnetha did a Breakfast BBC TV interview while promoting her solo album WYAAM.When asked about ABBA she answered 'Abba is resting for the moment" but by the look in her eyes someone could see it Abba was over.They had come full circle and even the guys admitted later years "suddenly we run out of energy/it was no fun anymore".So we fans got 'abandoned" without an official 'goodbye".But VOYAGE was the welcomed back ''hello again-bye bye now' gift some millions of us really needed so much.. .'ABBA has never left us-in my heart/in our hearts"_ Agnetha Voyage premier London 26th May '22.Cheers.

Hello again, and thanks for your new ABBA reactions "Under Attack" (1982) it's a great song, in a experimental time of ABBA with change of style, but don't have the power of the others These is a strange video, the last filmed by ABBA to your last single (isn't the last recording, that was 'The day before You came') It's a dark video to a dark song, with a deep lyric and a great lead vocal by Agnetha and a catchy chorus with Frida I think that "Under Attack" could be Top 10, but only was #26 in UK, good for any artist but not for ABBA expecting see you soon with more ABBA videos I wish you a great day best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina South America

Great song but you could tell that they were at the end of the road as a group albeit a long temporary one.
@ursgeiser65704 ай бұрын
Upon the release of Voyage 2021, Bjorn said in an interview that he doesn't understand why this last single wasn't a hit. Without a doubt, this song has the anticipatory 80s sound, but in my opinion it lacks a clear, recognizable riff or a short, musically interesting middle section. That's how the song splashes along. We were spoiled by ABBA back then and our expectations were simply high for some great hits (the same goes for the later Just A Notion and No Doubt).
@alexioverdo52254 ай бұрын
Must have been Bjorn who also said that if their last 2 singles had gone no1s they , would have propably kept it for longer.But times had been changing drastically in music culture around '81/'82 and also if felt like everyone had decided to say 'goodbye to the '70s" and Abba were mainly part of it.
