I normally agree with these video vigilantes. On this occasion I felt the policeman handled the little, spotty faced delinquent quite well. Who sounded like a rebel without a cause. An irritation, like a boil on your arse. And what exactly is a community activist? Or was he a journalist. Who the hell are journalists to criticise anyone. They're more interested in the Kardashians than any real issues. Maybe they should go and investigate the bankers - but that would be too much effort for journalists. it's much easier to create a story out of nothing. As for the homeless guy. That's why I eat my McDonalds in the car. First reason is I'm embarrassed to be seen eating the garbage they're made from, and secondly I don't want to share a restaurant with some smelly homeless guy with his shoes off.
@phildoodler21998 жыл бұрын
Gee, you have a lot of violent fantasies. Think you're playing to many Xbox games. There's no reason for a homeless guy to only have £1 in their pocket. They're usually good at begging for more, which they usually get. I take it you're happy to eat at McDonalds next to some guy that hasn't washed for over a week, and snoring into your McDonalds. I'm not. And I don't have a lot of money. I'm poor like 95% of the country. If I were rich, I wouldn't be eating in McDonalds. That's just mass produced, unhealthy muck that the masses are happy to swallow. I'm ashamed to say I occasionally have the odd breakfast from them. I'll take the moronic 'asshole' insult as a compliment. I certainly got your attention. Now go away back to your bedroom and play some more computer games.

Lastly, me personally would not like to sit next to someone who may smell and could ultimately put me off my meal.

The police were doing their jobs... Might not be the right thing to do (arresting a homeless guy for trying to find a place to sleep), and that needs to change, but the cop is between a rock and a hard place. I get the feeling he doesn't like it anymore than the kid does. If the homeless guy is drunk then the BEST thing that could happen to him is that the police take him to a cell for his own safety until he sobers up. Friend of mine recalls how when he was taken to a cell overnight he was offered hot drinks and a snack in the morning. Honestly i feel there is more to this than meets they eye, but I also respect the kid for standing his ground.
@calsmyth44838 жыл бұрын
+Whoami691 If you think it's appropriate for a police officer to act in a threatening and aggressive manner to a citizen not breaking any laws and genuinely concerned about the well-being of a homeless man who the police publicly announced will be kicked out of the restaurant, banned from the city centre and not given anywhere alternative to stay then you'll probably be happier living in a police state.
@Whoami6918 жыл бұрын
Ca Br I believe that people who think they have the whole picture then berating those who - in the long run - are trying to help is no better. The kid think he knows everything, odds are he (the homeless guy) would only hurt himself in the long run if he is drunk on the street with nowhere to go. Simple. At least in a cell they can wait for him to sober up and make sure no harm comes to him on the streets. Oh yea, totally a police state for having a little common sense. Fucking hell all you people are the same, if this was some random guy and not a cop you would take a different tune. Do people like you have ANY common sense? Or should the term 'common sense' be abolished? Because clearly it isn't very fucking common anymore.

Whoami691 So can I take it you completely withdraw your absurd reaction in your previous post and have changed it to the policeman was defensive not threatening? In which case I'd tend to disagree considering he threatened the cameraman for "getting in his face" despite the officer being the one approaching him, was intimidating them by unnecessarily asking for ID and press passes and he was clearly posturing throughout and elected to start the encounter (can you really call it being defensive if he starts it?). I could see how you could interpret it that way though (not that I feel it's an appropriate way for officers to behave either).

McDonalds is not a public place, that being said, it is private property. The police are well within their boundaries to remove him from the premises. It's counter productive to have some child spitting speculative assumptions at the police officer whilst doing his job. The police officer has probably been on the job longer than the kids been alive and has most likely seen more homeless related crime than the kid ever will.
@theprodigy45859 жыл бұрын
BALDY BRIAN 1. They are well within their boundaries to remove an intoxicated man who is unhygienic, loitering and easily aggravated, as pointed out in the video. 2. He may have the right to freedom of speech but what he is accusing the officer of has no purpose and is merely wasting time and resources in an attempt to half-assedly demonise the officer, and he is not an 'equal' member of society as he is not responsible for his own decisions, his parents still make. He is not of emotional maturity. 3. The Police officer has more experience dealing with the homeless than the kid can hope to. The Police officer knows the good, the bad and the ugly where-as the kid probably has little knowledge, and what he does know is probably sensitised bullshit portraying the homeless as misunderstood cuddly teddy bears, which would explain his lax views. In conclusion, children have no place in discussion involving extremely political matters. I'd go even as far to say people without tertiary education have no place in political matters because their emotions get too involved with their rational thinking.

Ever thought that perhaps the initial account your cousin would have gave would have been reviewed by a Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) and they maybe deduced that no actual evidence for them to harvest? How much experience do you have with forensics investigation? I bet your cousin even walked over the evidence just to cross contaminate everything. :-)

Original statement on this incident from West Midlands Police: “At around 9.20pm on Thursday 26 February officers on routine patrol stopped a man on Corporation Street who they believed to be drunk and was who shouting at passers-by. The 40-year-old was asked to leave the area. Around 15 minutes later the same man was spotted in a fast food restaurant on Cherry Street. Additional officers were then called and the man arrested to prevent a breach of the peace. Unemployed Viliam Timko , of James Turner Street in Winson Green, Birmingham was later charged with possessing a controlled drug and appeared before the city’s magistrates’ on Saturday 28 February. Mr Timko pleaded guilty and was fined £75 and had to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £145. “We welcome members of the public filming our officers executing their duties but it should always be borne in mind that, as in this case, the footage only captures a tiny snapshot of the incident they are dealing with as a whole on the basis of multiple sources of information. “Birmingham Police have a long standing commitment to protecting homeless people and work with organisations such as the Big Issue, Midlands Heart, St Basils and SIFA Fireside on a daily basis. “ This statement was provided, and published following this incident, in March 2015. ***** They we're doing their job? ok... I can't even deny that. The problem is, that it's hard to respect the job they do in situations like this. How is sleeping a breach of the peace, please? And where is the victim of this 'drug's offense' ? Based on what little we know from the above statement, the only drug that generated any kind of anti-social behavior was alcohol.... That's cool though. That's a government approved (taxed) drug... I know, let's take this guy - who is clearly down on his luck, and push him through our fantastic, fair & just legal system. The remedy found in court: LETS FINE THIS *UNEMPLOYED* GUY £240 FOR SELF MEDICATING. If you can't see the holes in this logic then I don't even know what to say to you.

Last i checked Mcdonalds doesn't operate a homeless shelter, If he is put in jail , he gets 2 hots and a cot , The cop is doing this man a favor by finding him a quiet place to sleep for the night, since he obviously refused to leave the restaurant if it escalated to the cops being called, At what point is it enough, when the entire restaurant is filled with passed out homeless people and there is nowhere to sit , Would you still think it's okay then

IF THIS YOUNG GUY IS SO CONCERNED FOR THE HOMELESS MAN THEN WHY NOT OFFER HIM A PLACE TO STAY FOR THE NIGHT IF HE'S GOT SO MUCH TO SAY TO THE POLICE THEN OFFER HIM A PLACE TO SLEEP END OF.
@IcedBjorn8 жыл бұрын
Weird. The police was right. The homeless was disturbing peace of someone. Making someone feel uncomfortable, and if he is doing that in a public place, he can be escorted out. It can seem harsh, but at the end, the police can not do anything about it. The way you acted towards the police officer, was immature. It's the company who owns the property, who decides, not the police.
@nickgivens63788 жыл бұрын
making them feel uncomfortable? so if a racist person sees a black person does that mean that black person has to leave their vicinity?
@IcedBjorn8 жыл бұрын
Why would someone feel uncomfortable just because they see a black person? I think you are just over aggravating the issue here, for no apparent reason to be honest. It is NOT against the law to be black or any race, but it is against the law to disobey rules of a business's behavioral rules, even if you are homeless. A homeless man staying in a business might be bad for the image of the location, and takes up room from paying customers. My point is not to be honest in that. It's in how rude the guy in the video was against the cops, just because they were doing their job.

Sorry but he shouldn't be sleeping in the McDonald's. Its a place to eat not to rest and sleep for the night.The police should of took him into the station for the night to sleep, then find him a place for him to go the next day. They was right too take him out of the McDonald's but should of handle the situation better. Saying to the homeless person he be banned from city center was out of line.

God bless you lad for standing up for the 'homeless' man (he is a man, our circumstances don't dictate our being, but I digress...) Having experienced sleeping rough myself, I always found it very troubling that the polices answer to homelessness is just to move the person on, the implications are staggering, by telling someone they have no right to sleep rough, what they are in essence doing is making a persons existence a CRIME !!! We are flesh and blood beings, with a soul, but bound by the laws of gravity none the less, we need to rest our head somewhere, we cannot simply vanish (as much as that would be their preferable solution !) and when you tell someone that it is illegal for them to be in any particular area, without giving them a selection of areas where they can stop at 'legally' then you are basically saying that individual has NO RIGHT TO LIFE !!! NO RIGHT TO LIVE !!! TO EXIST !!! Just monumentally staggering to even ponder that for a second !!! And this is where our universal natural rights are being eroded, we have the inherent universal right to, for example, forage for food when we are hungry, to seek warmth and shelter !!! The answer is simple, you cannot make it a crime for someone who happens to be homeless from inhabiting any particular area without providing a place that they can lawfully stop at, I'm talking about mass shelters for the homeless, and before those fools who will claim they want to 'freeload' and should get a job etc, then that's also a big part of the problem, one that will take up an essay of a comment in it's own right, but I have no problem with them doing some menial type of employment, you know the kind, like putting poppies together for charity, that sort of thing, in return they will get their food warmth and shelter, they obviously can receive benefits so will have some money, by the same token if they chose not to work then that would be entirely THEIR OWN CHOICE !!! Universal law (which trumps any state law of any country in the so called 'free world') recognises the right to someone's 'lifestyle choice' ! The same person might otherwise have chosen to live in a tent on a patch of countryside, yet were told they had to leave because them living there was 'illegal', and so I come full circle ! A human 'being' has the inherent right recognised by universal law (By God !) to live his/her life in any way they so choose so long as this doesn't impact on some other sentient beings universal rights, these are the most basic of rights, food, warmth, and shelter !!! They were granted to us the moment we were born !!! The Queen claims sovereignty over the land within the borders of the UK which makes it 'illegal' for someone to find warmth and shelter in so many places, so it is HER DUTY TO ENSURE ALL OF 'HER CITIZENS' HAVE THESE MOST BASIC OF NEEDS/RIGHTS MET !!! And when I spoke of 'mass shelters' I was not referring to any FEMA style concentration camps !!! I tell you what, just make a vast patch of land accessible to ANYONE AND EVERYONE, and we the people will do the rest, and that includes growing our own crops for example, but of course they will never allow that now will they, because to control a nations food is to control the people, monsanto and all that, but once again I digress.....

@tibgaming81849 жыл бұрын
nipper303 Oh really? You know the law? So you know that 'Breach of the Peace' refers to an old common law that is, in a case suitable for arrest, 1) Causing or threatening to cause violence or violent behaviour (This does NOT count violence towards a person, but property) and 2) Arresting body has reasonable suspicion that the offender will commit point 1 in the immediate future. So no, you don't know the law, so you can shut up yourself.
@nipper3039 жыл бұрын
