I had the first session of Root Canal Treatment done yesterday where they cleaned up my canals and filled it with temporary filling. With anesthesia, it was a breezy experience, no pain! (Though at first the dentist wasn't using anaesthesia on me and was asking me to see if it hurt and the drill on the dentin made it feel very sensitive). It was done in like 20 minutes and though yesterday I sometimes felt sensitivity, today I'm not feeling anything! I had been so fearful of this for so long, feels good to know it's not as scary as it seems! :)

Same. Unfortunately back when it happened (10 or so years ago) I was eating a lot of sugary foods, and so many things can happen unnoticed even when you are doing a reasonably decent job brushing/flossing every day. Now days I don't really consume much sugar at all, and I really don't have issues like I use to.

I've had 5 crowns put on my teeth....all in an effort to avoid a root canal. In other words when the dentist said a filling I got years and years ago is failing I would say crown it. Well eventually the worst happened. The very first crown I had put on a molar tooth back in 2001 failed and I started getting pain in that tooth. I had to get a root canal and a new crown. I was scared because of all the hype I heard over the years but decided to tough it out because I don't want to lose any of my teeth. The root canal was no different than getting a crown. Yeah I felt some grinding going on but no pain. Nothing. It might be different if you have an abscessed tooth I don't know. But a root canal didn't bother me at all. Now I am not scared to get the next one. 😁

This is the exact procedure I have been told can't be done. Resulting in pulling all but 1 of my back teeth. I've been regularly going to a dentist, flossing, brush religiously after every meal and combat drug mouth with several products as well as always chewing sugar free gum. I developed lesions inside my mouth and best guess specialists have said is Lichen Planus. Since it began my teeth began to decay rapidly. Aggravated beyond measure hearing other dentists say i must floss and brush regularly despite explaining I do... Fanatically. All they do is pull my teeth out and now I can't eat solid foods anymore.

@@youcutham4189 If there's anything to learn, it's not worth letting teeth go. I've taken impeccable care of mine and it's down to poor, lazy dentistry but please don't leave it to chance. My jaw is in constant pain from trying to eat with front teeth (bit of an overbite) and can't manage meat. If you enjoy and have no issue eating meat... Imagine no more summer BBQ steak. Or barely able to use a straw, which was a surprise. My diet will be mostly a liquid diet. I've been proud of not looking anywhere near my 57 years so now my confidence is badly shaken thinking of hollowed out cheeks. I'm angry most all the time because I can't hold any dentist accountable or pay to replace my teeth as would be ethically right. To "repair" old fillings only to have every single one fail in 2 years, ya, I'm furious. Do yourself a favor and don't need fillings in the first place. Flossing is awesome if you wrap it around middle finger and use index fingers as the guide. Many young people say it hurts because no one showed them how to do it right. Invest in a good electric toothbrush, it's so worth it

I had to do a root canal due to a previous dentist fucking up a very minor filling 6 years ago, drilling into the nerve which caused the whole tooth to be infected under the filling. Worst pain I've had all my life. Researched and found a good dentist that did an amazing root canal that still is issue free several years later. The "worst" part of the surgery was having to keep the jaw open for about the hour and a half long surgery (serious jaw cramps lol), but it was completely pain free and honestly calculus removal is worse than doing a root canal imo. Find a good dentist, it makes all the difference.

I was worried (i got mine done yesterday) bc i went on a journey with my tooth-my teeth are on small end too..well i flossed and pulled filling- got redone..very easy process but had pain for weeks ..My reg dentist said that there was a cavity and they drilled touching the nerve which brought on abscess and i would need a root canal..for that time they just redid the filling but then i had a visible abscess on the gum and much more discomfort plus it hardly numbed and process wasn't good bc of that ..this office tends to be bad at numbing and he blamed it on the full moon but i think its the 40+ mins of socializing and bouncing between clients and after giving the shots..anyways tooth broke (even tho i took antibiotics) like within 2 months so i got a dentist close to me..I was very worried bc it didn't numb last time and that was just a filling and this was a root canal ..after i got the shots i barely felt the numbness ...it was just upper lip really and little of jaw but i felt noooothing. the process was very quick i was out in half hour. if anything at one point it was like a toothpick doing a little scratching but nothing painful ...just got the after taste which is like chewing on a mailer envelope and the red throat spray

Great video. I just had a word canal 6 years ago and sometimes it can leak from the feeling feeling my dentist went in and took out the feeling took the crown off. Took out the feeling and dug out all the junk in there and maybe a little bit of decay or something or cavity or something and feel it back in. I'm feeling a lot better now cuz I I would touch the tooth and it will hurt and pressure on it would hurt. So this shows exactly what happened but you didn't look this bad. My gums were inflamed behind it and in front of the two I'm just taking the rest of my antibiotics the CI it goes. Please response. Like I said I had a it was a week going on the x-rated and made sure there wasn't a crack in it. And good thing was it wasn't a crack so he dug out all the stuff filled it back in and when I get finished bleaching my teeth is going to put a crown on it. Let me know what's this. Pretty much the deal. Please respond. Great video! Great work there. My tooth wasn't that bad. It did a great job. Keep up the good content

Idk why root canals have such a bad rep. I got one done almost 20 years ago and it was a pretty cool experience. As far as discomfort, from a scale of 1-10, at worst it was a 6. And it was mostly around a 3 or 4.

I HATE root canals. I personally think they are dangerous, because they give a false sense of security. No one told me to look out for signs of decay on the edges of my crowns. No one said that the tooth can continue to decay underneath, but they do. This can lead to infection, and even to getting infection in the blood where you can't see any symptoms until it's already a dangerous problem. I don't believe root canals are a good practice. I am not an expert, so maybe I am wrong and it's all that can be done short of extracting the tooth, but people need to be made aware that it kills the tooth. I had one root canal that years later the tooth became brittle, broke in half when I bit down on something. It had to be extracted, and I was told that because it was brittle, it could fragment when they tried to remove it, and if a piece fell inside the hole, it could paralyze my face. My husband was told the same recently when he had to have a wisdom tooth taken out. I had teeth that had root canals continue to decay underneath the crowns. It did not take that long before one of them had the tooth break off completely. That one BROKE OFF AT THE GUM LINE, taking the crown with it, several years after the work had been done. Another one the crown came off but the tooth seems like it has not died to the point of being brittle .. both of them were BLACK underneath the crown from decay that continued underneath were it could not be seen. I am not an expert by any means, but I suspect removing the pulp is not helpful. I wonder really, if that is what it is that kills the tooth. I don't know if it's removing the pulp or covering the tooth but I suspect both contribute to the further decay of the teeth. Bacteria are STILL destroying the teeth under there, and it CAN result in infection that is invisible to us. My brother had work done over the years, a lot of root canals... and one day had to go to the emergency room.. where he found that ALL THOSE TEETH CONTINUED TO ROT UNDERNEATH AND CAUSED INFECTION THAT THEN GOT INTO HIS BLOOD. If he had not gone to the emergency room, he COULD HAVE DIED FROM SEPSIS. I am not putting the crowns back on those teeth.. well one tooth has most of the tooth left, but the other is just the edges of the tooth that broke off, and either tooth or bone just under the gum line where it broke. I am brushing them (gently) and using mouth wash multiple times a day to kill bacteria in my mouth, and will probably do salt water rinses periodically as well. So far it has been 4 years since the crowns /tooth broke off, and both teeth remain in the same condition they were when it happened; they have not gotten worse. I seriously hope and pray that the dentistry profession will study this issue, look into it more to find better ways to deal with these teeth issues, especially with infections where they are wanting to remove the pulp.

Then just get your tooth pulled costs money especially molars . That you need to chew your food. and pay 5000 dollars for a implant in USA . Compared to 1300 to 1700 from endo . I didn’t get this done because I couldn’t afford it. Then 2 yrs later it was to late . Had to have it pulled 500 bucks on back molar. Now I need implant . It would of been cheaper to listen to the dentist . But I had all my teeth expect wisdom teeth . Now I’m getting a root canal next week and I’m happy to keep my own teeth .

Obviously easier doing it on a practice mould with an extracted tooth attached to it. You can tell by the distancing of the teeth.

I have a question. Had Root redo after an infection. Doctor gave me extra novacain (2x-3x) after I complained of feeling pain during procedure. Later (about 1.5 hours) eating soft noodles, I "sucked" my tooth and immediately tasted and felt something come up out of the tooth. I4 hit my brain/CNS and I saw stars! I became disoriented, shaky, cognitively "off", tired and had trouble breathing. Today I'm still shaky with vertigo and fatigue. What was it? Novacain? Left behind cleaning solutions? Whatever it was, it's been over 24 hours and I still feel like crap. Can't someone explain what happened?

My teeth was infected but wasn’t that bad, why my doctor capped me with zirconia cap rather than restoring my teeth? Did he di it because he was lazy? This looks so nice while my zirconia cap is not even good, he shaved all my surrounding teeth too
