TUTORIAL DESCRIPTION:
In this video I am reviewing the Teexpert Silicone. I am making a mold of a glass soap dish. I mixed the silicone 1:1 by weight and I added Lets Resin dye blue and green to color the silicone. Used my vacuum chamber to degas the bubbles. it took about 5 hours to cure and was able to remove from mold housing. #siliconemold #silicone

Don't worry about people complaining about your skills as a videographer. You are one of the most creative and innovative resin artists on KZbin. Your taste is immaculate (in my opinion). That's why people watch you. Plus, you are certainly a better videographer than most people on KZbin.

You need to stop apologizing for not being perfect to others for things that are not 100%. You are human, there will be noises, there will be mistakes, that's life. You take the time to come up with projects, film, edit and post on here and that is more then so many others. If we wanted to watch someone being perfect we would all be up sh*ts creek cause not 1 of us is perfect. I appreciate EVERY person including you that posts these videos.

The fan was barely noticeable 👍 I love the coloring you chose, and that's going to make a decent sized dish! I have a project that's going to require shore hardness 00, about a 10 to 20, and I'm looking to see if Teexpert makes it, but they truly need to add the shore hardness and strength to both the bottles and directions/care pamphlets! Good review, and thank you 😊

I've collected lots of glassware with the intent to make molds, and many of these have pretty etched bottoms. I had thought I'd have to sacrifice the pretty bases until I saw this. Great stuff!

Excellent video on making the mold! Will make a lovely soap dish or trinket dish! The marbling color makes a pretty mold, too. Same questions as others have about waiting vs not waiting to use the mold and how it might affect mold longevity. Looking forward to seeing you use this mold!

i think being a little more precise on the testing i would've tried a little small molding of an item as well without putting it in a bubble chamber... (not everyone has that luxury resin item)...as well as doing the one you did do.... I say that due to the fact that the bottle states "bubble free"... that way we would've seen if indeed it releases bubbles on it's own maybe?.. just sayin... my thought processes aren't always the best...hahahaha...but i can't wait to see the dish when you pour it though...it came out so shiny......thank you for doing this as well ...giving us newby mold makers more confidence in doing them for sure!!!!! Oh and fans are a comfort noise to Texans!!!! thank you...very normal here....lol.....

I know, I wing it most of the time, but I just keep one of my inlay molds handy in case I have extra. Good thing is it has a long working time so it gives me a hot minute to get it into something else.🤣. But thank you❤🌻

Didn't really notice the fan tbh . I thought it was my pc fan hehehe. The girls did a brilliant job with finding that gorgeous soap dish ! I had wondered how they did the 2 colour type mold LOL you did a fabtastic job at pouring that ! Love the colours !! You film and work the way you have to , try and ignore the trolls that seems to think they have to dictate to you how you work and enjoy what would you do. Thank you for showing us how you did this great mold and i can't wait to see what awesome creations you make with it. ATM the closest thing to molding is maybe making inlays from stamps LOL. It was interesting to hear about the different types of molds and what ones makes them easy to demold or not. I dont know if that makes a different if you want to do inlays ???

You don’t have to explain to us, you’re doing us the favour, you’re teaching us. I think you’re fantastic even if you’re out of shot a bit. Question: why do you put colour in your silicone? 🥰. Oh I went back and watched again. You put the colour in because you could. LOL. I should have been watching closer.

I've noticed that some other resiners will cast immediately after making a mold, while you and a few others will wait the recommended 12-24 hours before casting resin in the new silicone mold. Can you explain what differences there will be in the finished resin pieces between waiting and not waiting? Will it be bad for the resin piece or does not waiting ruin the silicone mold? Thanks
@resinmeup
@resinmeup 2 ай бұрын
Absolutely. I always follow the manufacturers guidelines on any product that I use. For this brand it states that it is fully cured in 12-24 hours. Even though I was able to unmold it from the housing and the object being molded in 5 hours, it was still not through its curing cycle. I didn't want to risk ruining my casting by adding resin that will heat up the silicone and possibly break it down and cause surface damage. Does that make sense? Hope that helps, let me know if it doesn't🌻❤

Mary, There are so many things you could do with this mold and is very shiny and pretty. It seems to take the color well also. Is there an advantage to using resin dye vs alcohol inks or mica powder?
@resinmeup
@resinmeup 2 ай бұрын
Thank you Heather. I chose the resin dye because its pure pigment and its translucent. I decided against the alcohol inks because it crossed my mind you use alcohol to clean silicone up, it might break it down. As far as mica powder, I don't think it would be a good choice either because it just wouldn't mix in well and would leave mica bubbles. Also some mica powders are made with metals and silicone rejects some metals. Hope this helps❤🌻

Cheryl, then you will have to be extra careful in your stirring during the 4 min. This silicone does degas on its own with a few bubbles in it. 🌻❤
