This is a once-in-a-generation song. Very few bands could even attempt something like this, let alone pull it off. A musical manifesto. A masterpiece. The ultimate protest song.

Back in 04, my Goverment teacher let me write a paper about the lyrics and writing that paper radicalized me after spending a week or so fulling diving in as a kid from small rural town in MI. Saw them play in Detroit in Aug for the first and last time and wept like a baby when they did this as an Encore lol

I remember picking this up when it came out. Was a NoFx fan since the mid-90's, so after I bought it and stuck it in my CD player, I was very confused after realizing there was only one song on it lol. Still, it's a great song. I think their reasoning behind making The Decline, was that they made a ton of short songs, so they decided to make one long song.

Its dope seeing "black" creators reacting to what is generally considered to be "white" music. You see lots of White people bumping hiphop r&b and shit all the time but very rarely so you see the black community rocking out to punk and the stereotypical "skinhead" type music. *EDIT i see that sharpstone mate... im bustin with you... same grinder but purple!* *EDIT EDIT: you just earned a sub with that cannon lol*

The thing about this song that is VERY important is that Nofx basically just wrote poop and fart songs. Great punk rock, but they were more interested in alcohol and farting. And then one day........this. It would be like Taylor Swift dropping a 30 minute opera on economic policy. NOFX went on to make a career out of "George W. Bush Is Bad Man #1" thorough "George W. Bush Is Bad Man #4,598", so this isn't really appreciated for being as shocking as it was at the time.
