How she's just staring Lindsey down with that chorus "I'll follow you down 'til the sound of my voice will haunt you. Give me just a chance, you'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you." And Lindsey takes it like a man. He could look away, buy he never breaks eye contact. It's hard enough to get over a long term relationship when you get dumped. I can't imagine how she felt having to still work together. True pro's.

The beautiful part of all this is that at this point they are great friends now who had an intense relationship that gave birth to this and many songs they've recorded. They can sing it now with a genuine and mature respect and love for each other as they know they are part of each other's lives no matter what.

Tears are rolling down my cheeks. It doesn’t help to know that the guitarist is the one she singing to. Lindsay and Stevie broke up during the making of Rumors. (As did the bass and keyboardist John and Christie McVie) Those are REAL emotions up there. I saw them in 1977 and 1994 and they still are hard to watch singing and playing together.

I completely agree with you about the emotion of a live performance. I literally cannot handle the intensity of the stare between Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham. I've always loved this song but ever since I first saw this performance I don't even want to listen to the album version anymore. I find this one to be far superior. Even when I'm just listening to it and not watching the video I can still picture that intense look between Stevie and Lindsay.

I’m not even a huge Stevie/Mac fan, but THIS...I’m obsessed with this performance. The best thing is, it doesn’t feel like a ‘performance’ at all. Knowing their back story, and knowing that she wrote this about mr buckingham....this shit is real! The way she’s singing AT him...not to him...at him. And Lindsey has to step up to the mic, sing harmony, play these gorgeous guitar parts.....man. How the all aren’t in tears the whole time is beyond me. Incredible

It is a true song too! Stevie Nick's the lead female wrote it for Lindsay Buckingham, the lead guitar! They were in love in the 1970s. He wrote, "Go Your Own Way," about her! Sadly, Mick Fleetwood, drummer, announced after the death of Christine McVie on keyboards in November 2022. A few days prior, Lindsay was rushed to the ER in heart failure. He had emergency open heart surgery which saved his life, but the tube they put down his throat damaged his voice! Lindsay & Stevie (short for Stephanie) broke up many times, but Silver Springs was after Lindsay met Kristen, his wife! She gave him what he wanted, kids!! Both Stevie & Christine did not want kids. I had the privilege of seeing them play 7 concerts. That trio powerhouse of Christine, Stevie, & Lindsay's voices you hear on the chorus is even more beautiful live!!

I believe certain combinations of sound can produce certain emotions, for sure. Some songs make me cry that really shouldn't. I also believe certain light combinations can elicit emotions as well. I had an idea in college that I wanted to study Psychology and do research on this topic. My end goal was to try to create therapeutic live music experiences that could heal. I ended up changing majors, but still thought about it a lot. I think this is why I'm drawn to live shows that leave me feeling uplifted and fulfilled - The Grateful Dead, Dead and Company, Twiddle, Phish, and Widespread Panic. I am a fan of lots of different genres, but my favorite live shows are from those particular bands. I think the Dead in particular take their audience on a journey through light and dark, happy and sad, like no other band. I sure hope you get a chance to see Dead And Company on tour this Fall or next year. You'll have the time of your life and will leave uplifted, for sure! I know you're way in to Phish, too, and they'll likely do that for you, too. They never hit me quite as deeply as the Dead, though.
