Rod Temperton also wrote most or all the songs for the infamous album Thriller for Michael Jackson. He was also a member of the dope group Heatwave.

Yah is a shortened version of Yahweh, which means God in Hebrew. So the title literally means "God will be there" and is interpreted as "God be with you."

If you do We Are the World, James Ingram has a powerful part of it. Also his duet with Patti Austin is my favorite duet. Speaking of duets, my other favorite is Michael McDonald and Patti La Belle in "On My Own."

I agree with hollis68. I'm 57 and I've heard both of these awesome artist over the years on different songs. Michael started out doing back up for Steely Dan, became lead singer for The Doobie Brothers, sang back up on other songs( Kenny Loggin's song This Is It) sang with Patti Labelle etc... James Ingam did a awesome song called Find 100 Ways, sang a duet with another female Artist, and other collaborations. Love his voice! Sad he is no longer with us.😓 Great Reactions!

Teez, one of my favorites! 2 great vocals from the late great James Ingram and Michael McDonald. Yah Mo Be There James wanted it to be God will be there, but the producers thought it would be too religious. James didn't want to budge, but he went with Yah because it's a Hebrew name for God. Please react to James Ingram: Just Once and Michael Mcdonald: Sweet Freedom. Thanks!

James Ingram transitioned at the age of 66 January 19, 2019 from brain cancer. This song was originally "Yahweh Be There" however; the record label refused to release it under that title. It was James himself who told me this. It is generally thought that YAH is a shortened form of YHVH. This Name of God occurs about 50 times in the Tanakh. In Psalm 68:4 [5, H] this Name is particularly stressed. The Name YAH is also found in the construct word "hallelu-YAH," which means "you. The actually spelling of the song title is Yah Mo B There. Yah is a shortened version of Yahweh, which means God in Hebrew. So the title literally means "God will be there" and is interpreted as "God be with you." The background lyrics are "up and over".
