Very informative and clear, I was confused because there are so many course providers out there and they offer various courses, like CertTESOL, DipTESOL, MA TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, some online, some in-class, some even blended. This video helps me narrow down my choices. Thanks a lot.

Hi.. Need clarification.. Now they define Celta as teaching English as a foreign language. They no longer define it as teaching English to Adults. Which is correct? Can we still use the old definition? Also, Cambridge Uni itself puts Celta as diploma/degree level if I'm not mistaken. Yes, it does not involve many years but it is a whole different course altogether. It involves assessments on a daily basis, assignments where you have to either pass or fail and if you fail one assignment you fail the whole course.. Ppl reported not even sleeping at night for days straight etc. It is not your usual diploma or degree course where you can skip classes, resit, sit in class and just take notes etc. It's an assessment and performance course if you will, where you will have no life whatsoever and that is why ppl advice that if you want to take celta, make sure your spouss, family, friends, work are on hold. It's a tough TOUGH course and if you've taken it, you wish it isn't even a month but a day because it's *that* tough. Many people fail celta and many quit because it is too stressful. You can't say the same with a typical diploma or degree. It's like ACCA certificate. Although not a diploma or degree, but it's really a tough course and not many are able to pass it because again, it's unlike a normal diploma or degree where you can take your time and not have to be assessed every day and literally have no life etc. I'm just saying this to clarify some misconceptions because yes eventhough celta is not a diploma or degree but it is SUPER tough. If you don't have a high level of endurance and commitment.. Do NOT do celta.

thanks, just what I needed to know. I hope taking SOME of it online will be alright - but there's no way I'd want to walk into a classroom without some hands on teaching time, too.

I'd suggest starting a training course and applying for a teaching position at the same time. It would be a good chance to apply what you learn in your class.

Where Can I take the TESOL
@mohamedabdulaziz47063 жыл бұрын
Hello Mariam. There are many training providers in every country. You need to find a course that's 120+ hours with minimum 6 hours of observed teaching practice. Besides, their certification is recognized by employers in your target market. If you tell me where you're based, I might be able to recommend a place or two.

Can I teach kids with tesol certificate?
@rozaline47776 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your clear video, it has been very beneficial for me to differentiate between them Now still i have a question, do i need to pass a level test before and is it too hard? My speaking is very good but as i studied in an other language wgen it's to writing section and grammar i always do mistakes with time pressure and so all Thank you once again and good luck!
@mohamedabdulaziz47065 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, Roza :). Language proficiency level is a big matter in English Language Teaching. The better you use the language, the better teacher you are. Language learning is something developmental, that takes (much) time. English Language Teaching as a profession in itself is developmental in terms of teaching skills, language analysis, methodology, ....etc. I recommend that you check the Cambridge Teaching Framework, you're gonna like it. Thank again :).

If I get the TEFL or TESOL certificate, can I teach to kids?
@jeanpol18365 жыл бұрын
Of course, TEFL/TESOL is for teaching English to speakers of other languages regardless of age, CELTA is just more specialized for Adult learners.
@danlsam44234 жыл бұрын
Jean pol , so you suggest that tesol and tefl and more prefereble than celta ! Cuz it appears that tesol is broader and much easier .

4:08 Sometimes Online is the only realistic alternative, as the classes doesn't take place even in your country.
@mohamedabdulaziz47065 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment:) , Most employers worldwide would ask for in-class courses as they include at least 10 hours of teaching practice and observation of experienced teachers. Trainer's feedback on TP and reflection tasks throughout the course is so important for a novice teacher as well. Yet, Online courses would still be a good alternative, but it's all about the choice of the right training provider. Thanks again
