This is a very good video. Listened through Sennheiser hd600 headphones. Did hear a difference with the analog sum. It seemed a little bit more natural-sounding. I mix entirely in the box. But I use plugs that emulates analog circuitry. Like Slate Digital VCC. Will probably give this a 14-day trial sometime in the future. Very good video on your part though.

Nice, but the interst of summing out of the box is to insert hardware between output of the summing mixer and the input of the audio interface, do you agree ?

No, in some of the summing mixers you have the inserts to place hardware but always the “master” of the summing will be the final part. Usually summing mixers are used at the end sending all the tracks. Do not confuse with mastering chain

I saw people inserting hardware After thé summing mixer, so that s why i think it must be usefull to have inserts in the summing mixer so you can listen to the final mix on monitoring and send the exact replica for printing. And sure you can insert hardware just before input of thé summing mixer, but just on specific dtems. Am i right ? Thx

Nice video, however, it's impossible to compare it that way (sending stems from the original ITB mix), as you said the difference will be minimal, just because your not mixing ITB and with a summing the same way. It's very hard to compare (sadly....) but still a great video and very nice setup !!!!

Yes I agree with you, however I've not used purely stems, but I tried to use the tracks saturing my 16 physical outputs of my audio intrface, of course if I had more outputs I could have used more channel fo the analog summing mixer, benefiting of more interaction between each channels and components of analog stuff.. I did my best using at least 16 channels. spreading the tracks.

analog sum is better!!!! plus if 4-5-6 analogue buss intsert (drums bass synth-gits vocals) + analogue mastering = it would be a huge difference !!! thanks for the video!

here are some differences...but not so much, as I said in the video...nowadays the "in the box" digital summing is great
