I listen to this song all the time. It's one of my favorites. But the one thing that gets to me is the little sections of silence in between the individuals songs (in case you weren't aware, this whole medley is four songs combined into one). So I decided to edit out the silence and mash it all together into one, flawless, seamless, listening experience.
(This video is basically just for me, but if you like it, more power to you!)

Not to mention that when they toured for this album, they brought a PIPE ORGAN on tour with them. The least portable instrument on the planet and they toured a rock and roll show with one. They raised that sucker up behind the band at the appropriate moment, and if you already have a pipe organ, then why not have a cloak and dry ice fog as well? I didn't appreciate it at the time but it to date is still the most amazing thing I've seen in a live rock show.

I swear, I love Boston. I wish Brad had been here for the creation of this album. He is greatly missed. 7:23 is where the perilous battle begins the hero is on the ropes but triumph will be hers/his just close your eyes and envision your best in a game in an adventure or create the scenario in your mind as the music unfolds its power. If you're lucky, tears of gratitude will fill your eyes. This is a powerful piece and Boston is likely the only ones who could've made it.

He actually was still around for the creation of this album, as well as the greatest hits in 1997 and Corporate America in 2002. He has writing credits on this song, and his voice can be heard singing harmony with Fran Cosmo, as well as backup vocals in different spots during the song. He was busy with his RTZ side project when this album was recorded, thus he didn't have much input on it.

Tom was trained in classical music at a young age which is why his music always reminded me of the classical masters like Bach and Beethoven. The same song structure that mystified audiences in the 1700's is in play here when Boston burst on the scene in 1976.

This medley was actually a variation on the theme of the extended live version of Smokin back in the 70s. The absence of Brad Delp may have led some to believe this was the end of Boston, but a year after Delp left to join Barry Goudreau and RTZ, Scholz started work on the Walk On album.

Brad Delp helped to write the two sections of the medley with lyrics (Walk On, and Walk On (Some More). The album was started when Brad was still in the band. The Barry Goudreau album was long before Walk On was started (1980 or 81). RTZ was done when Brad left Boston, after Third Stage and the tour were finished. I've got several of the live recordings, Long Beach (the full show), Jones Beach, Giant Stadium, etc... and none if them have anything like Walk On during Smokin'. The is an extended, incredible solo during Smokin, but nothing like this. They did do a long improv sorta song called She's a Looker, but that was a blues song that was awesome. They did a very long improv part in the middle of More Than A Feeling. I can hear little parts that could be in the WO Medley, but not much.

Saw 'Boston' with Fran in a tiny casino in Reno. No other original members that I recall. It was still pretty damn good.

IMHO, this is Boston's best song of songs...or best whateveryouwanttocallit. No one had (or still has) a sound like Tom Scholz. Few could match his writing ability, leave alone playing. This is often on repeat during my workday or while exercising or while sleeping (JK!). Seriously, it is that good!

Good Job Beer Baron ! ! Gettin rid of the section cuts makes all the difference or else it sounds like an 8 track tape lol.. I hated trying to burn this medley to a CD back in the day .. I purchased this album with Yes Talk at the same time & the song Endless Dream did the same dam'n thing .. I wanted them back to back on a CD & the phucking sectioning for both songs just pissed me off LOL..

Respect ✊ for somebody else’s beliefs, right or wrong we should all walk on , not your life. Fact why be involved in somebody’s happiness. If invited respect listen first respect always. Does not concern you passing judgment never did anybody any good 😌. You just think? What makes you who you are and tick. That’s it quite creating problems , I don’t have to choose you or 🤔 like you I’m me go be you, very simple. Let’s all understand beliefs because it’s not for everybody, run your own business it’s called life, respect ✊
