1977. I was ten years old when Dad passed down his cherished '73 Trans Am to my oldest brother Timmy for his 16th birthday. Timmy was the most popular boy in his class, star athlete and straight-A student, but he always manage to find time to spend with his shy little brother. He'd take me rollerskating, to the movies, and let me tag along when he'd hang out at the Quick Snack with his buddies. We'd roam the roads of the Valley looking for stoplight drag races, always with the great rock blasting out of the 8-track. He was affectionate and patient, the opposite of our brooding, sadistic dickbag brother Eric, who used me for a motorbike ramp and farted on me all the time. But Eric was also very protective of me, encouraged me, and taught me to stand up for myself. Like all boys their age, they listened to the popular rock of the time and I've always felt more connected to their music than to the music of my own generation. They turned out to be great husbands and fathers and the three of us aren't just brothers, but best friends. So this one goes out to the two greatest big brothers ever. Love you both - from your little "Squeet"

I second that opinion. Sholtz was a genius to make his own guitar effects in 1976 and listen to how long the notes hold on the guitar 🎸. Even left the harmonic feedback which just further exemplifies the sound. 👍

This song, this moment, made me realize that this is full circle ⭕️. It’s a long story, but may The Gods bless Brad, Tom, Frank and that powerhouse of a drummer. This was music proudly made without synthesizers and the soundtracks to my life were mostly from Boston. Life wasn’t so bad after all. Thank you Jesus

Long Time It's been such a long time, I think I should be going, yeah And time doesn't wait for me, It keeps on rolling. Sail on, On a distant highway, yeah. I've got to keep on chasing a dream. I've gotta be on my way; Wish there was something I could say. Well, I'm taking my time, I'm just moving on. You'll forget about me after I've been gone, And I take what I find, I don't want no more, It's just outside of your front door. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's been such a long time. It's been such a long time, ooh. Well, I get so lonely When I am without you, But in my mind, deep in my mind, I can't forget about you, ooh Good times And faces that remind me, yeah I'm trying to forget your name And leave it all behind me. You're coming back to find me... Well, I'm taking my time, I'm just moving along. You'll forget about me after I've been gone, And I take what I find, I don't want no more, It's just outside of your front door. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's been such a long time. It's been such a long time. Yeah, yeah It's been such a long time, I think I should be going, And time doesn't wait for me, It keeps on rolling. There's a long road I've gotta stay in time with, yeah. I've got to keep on chasing that dream, Though I may never find it, I'm always just behind it. Well, I'm taking my time, I'm just moving on. Well, I'm taking my time, I'm just moving on.

Not quite actually far from it. Sib is playing the drums on this song. Sib played drums on every song but one and Jim Masdea played the drums on that one. Tom attempted to play drums on some of the post Third Stage songs, and lets just say that Tom would never make it as a drummer. Tom can only dream of being able to play the drum parts on this song. Barry is playing electric rhythm guitar on Foreplay, Long Time and Let Me Take You Home, and he plays lead guitar on this song as well as lead and slide guitar on Let Me Take You Home. Fran is playing bass on Foreplay. All of Brads vocals were recorded at Capital Studios Studio C by producer John Boylan. So there had to be at least three people (Barry, Fran, Sib, Boylan and Tom in the studio perhaps at different times when this record was recorded. Barry introduced Tom to Brad back in 69/70 and Tom played keyboards in Barry's band. Tom, Barry, Brad and Jim Masdea played Tom's songs for years before this record was ever even recorded. Barry played guitar on some of Tom's early demos. Brad sang on multiple demos for Tom before this record was made. Lastly, the band as you see on the back of this record cover played their first gig before this record was even recorded. According to producer John Boylan Epic execs wanted to see if Mothers Milk (name of band before the record was released) pull these songs off live before they would sign the record deal. Once Epic execs were satisfied, the record deal which included Brad and Tom was signed. The personnel changed by the time that the song Let Me Take You Home was recorded by the band as pictured on the back of the record before the record was finished and released.

What's surprising is that this whole first album was delayed for release by a couple of years because the guitarist wouldn't let the producers have it until he thought it was "perfect". Apparently his bandmates broke into his house and stole the audio tapes to hand them over to the record company for release.
@user-nw8fi3db9c9 ай бұрын
"gimme that!" "No" "I said gimme that" "Okay" It didn't happen like that, rock on. "Listen to the record!"

@brian473317 That is urban legend and not true at all. Once this record started being recorded it took a little over a year (1975-Aug 1976) and a half to finish it and to have it on the market. No one broke into anyone's house to get audio tapes. That is complete BS.
