Carth was such a well-written love interest, I fell for him (virtually speaking) by total accident when I played this. I didn't even know there ~was~ a romance in the game! I just kept picking the funny dialogue responses, and it happened naturally, and by the end, I was all for it. xD

@VS Wow, funny seeing this old comment again after all this time! Haha. What made it great, I think, was that I didn't *know* there was a romance and wasn't fishing for it. If I did and had been, that would have kind of ruined it, because I'd have walked on eggshells trying to find the "perfect" path to a successful romance. Instead, I picked on and teased Carth _constantly,_ and you know what? It turns out that he's a big boy and can handle it just fine, and he even takes a few playful shots back of his own. The upshot is that instead of completing a chore wherein I was "successful" in completing the romance, I experienced the natural growth of a romance that really felt like one, all the while my character simply enjoyed herself in his company. I think sometimes we ruin games for ourselves by worrying so much about how to play through "correctly" in order to get outcomes we know about in advance. To really enjoy them, we kind of need to resist the urge to do that and instead return to letting the experience simply happen and even surprise us. A game that is written well will reward that.

You can do the same with Bastila if your character is male. Her reactions to Revan flirting and teasing her are hilarious, and your love can save her from the Dark Side at the end of the game

The world is better in many ways but also worse somehow, that is why birth rate is declining, we are slowly killing ourselves off

Oh definitely, video game characters are just created, most of the time, to be what most people find attractive. This is seen in many games, especially with those with a range of romancable characters. They are just designed for people to fall for, not complaining though, Carth is definitely one heck of a man.

Alex well technically (haven't looked at timelines but the models give me a little bit of an idea) he played Carth long before he played Kaiden Alenko. Honestly he had more character than Kaiden I wish some of that had been incorporated into Kaiden, who is honestly seems kinda shy in mass effects he hardly talks with the rest of the crew and even in a romance in Mass 1 he makes no effort to go over an talk to Shepard on his own.

Okey-dokey. So I'm going to do my best to answer your question, because I just LOVE feeling like I'm an expert. :D I'm going to assume that you know how to trigger the Carth Romance sub-plot. If this is not the case, please let me know, and I'll explain. Conversation #1 in my vid takes place when your character reaches level 4. #2 happens when you reach character level 5. #3 happens after you've found the 1st Star Map (on Dantooine). #4, #5, and #6 after you've found the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

I advise you to have #6 BEFORE returning to the Ebon Hawk, as this is part of Carth's "let me protect you" speech, and you SHOULD hear this from him BEFORE you get nabbed by the Leviathan. The Tanis thing will happen any time you go to the hunting lodge on Tatooine, as long as Carth's currently in your party. :D Please let me know if this doesn't answer your question. :)

Carth says, "heh, heh. Sorry. Didn't mean anything by it. I mean, not to say you're not... ah, well..." This is a part of the dialog that you can get from a mod at KOTOR II Files. Lots of cool stuff in it, especially if you've played the game dozens of times already. But there's absolutely no voice acting included, so you have to read the lines, and the characters remain completely silent. That's why I left those choices out of my vid.
