Sir you are among very few Indian investor who has really good knowledge of US Market. 401k is the best investment instrument for average Americans. Though 401K has some limitations like you can't buy direct stocks but you have to buy the mutual funds/bonds available in that plan . The good thing is once I left my job I transferred my 401k into IRA and invested in individual stocks. In India the biggest government sponsored scam is LIC and second one is Provident Fund.

Basant Sir Congratulations to both of us on being the part of BM Vision 2030. I hv invested 10 Lacs and willing to top up regularly to reach at least 20 in a year. Willing to migrate to fixed fee model but support service says that I need to unsubscribe AUM based service and subscribe fix fee model . That means liquidation of my portfolio to the tune of at least Rs 5.0 Lacs and paying the capital gain tax. Pls find out other ways to migrate
