Kunimitsu was my main from day 1 I remember finding out she was a girl and my brother being like “oh I bet you won’t want to play as her now” and I was like “I don’t really care it took me ages to master all the combos for Kunimitsu and I’m not stopping now” hope she returns she is my favourite Tekken character along with Heihachi

Theoretically,Kunimitsu it's a female in this game too. But she had the voice of Yoshimitsu,that is male.

Namco confirmed that Kunimitsu was ALWAYS supposed to be female as early as Tekken 1, but for what ever reason, the programmer got lazy and used Yoshimitsu's sound clips and not re-used say Michelle's or Nina's for the character. Of course this was fixed by Tekken 2.

@@David315842 Nah, they still used Yoshimitsu's voice for her in Tekken 2 and Tekken Tag 1. They just changed the pitch.

I remember being five or six and picking her because I only picked the girl characters and fighting with my cousin over whether she was a girl or not. My argument, she's like my coach. Turns out, she was just using Yoshimistu's voice to disguise her own.

I was like thinking there might of been 3 kunimitsu, cause tekken 7 your playing as the daughter of kunimitsu. But that's my opinion. When I was 4 I didn't know that the original king died and the sec one was one of the kids who took under his wing

Kunimitsu is the only sub-boss to have two win animations. She is also the only one to not have one exclusive to her, sharing both with Yoshimitsu.

That's absolutely correct. You're very good at noticing details much like myself. As she also shares her voice clips and K.O. scream with Yoshimitsu. She gets her own sounding voice clips in the sequel.

I sort of think they were undecided about Kunimitsu at this stage as she didn’t have the normal female body like the other girls she had the masculine build similar to Yoshi’s frame and the male voice but then again they did recycle a lot of voices for more than one character in this game especially

Kuni has slightly fewer moves. is basically Yoshi without the slice and stab moves.

Tekken 1 subboses hardly had any unique moves of their own they were all practically clones. Even Lee has all of Laws grabs while in Tekken 2 Lee had his own grabs

Always used to confuse me why in the first game kunimitsu is Michelle's boss and ganryu is yoshimitsus.. makes no sense

Kunimutsu wanted to steal Michelles treasure (her pendant apparently). And Yoshimitsu fought ganryu because ganryu gained riches by ill means from a village nearby. I doubt namco had that in mind when creating tekken 1 but here we are.

they were clansmen/women. Yoshi was a distraction so they could rob the Ziabatsu, when he heard there was a corrupt Yokozuna involved in racketeering, he went after him. Kuni heard about the powerful pendant and failed to persuade Yoshi to acquire it. She went behind his back and stole it anyway

Kunimitsu is not a male. Due to the limitations of the time they just reused yoshis model. But Kunimitsu has always been female. Now stop asking that dumb ass question 😚
