Funny I've just been pulling of alot of these moves particularly with the ground throw combinations working out which moves give you enough time to pull them off. But holy heck I remember fluking the reverse tackle with king way back in the 90's and thought I only imagined it, turns out it was real. But didn't know about Paul doing reverse power bombs and stuff this vid made my day. Got a few hidden gems with old king just getting the hands use to the timing all over again but cool stuff all around love it.

yes, that's what I'm talking about... when your character flashes GREEN you can press correct input for the action being RED means no moves will work same thing applies for the opponent you can still red-buffer buttons (hold 1 when you're red and add 2 being green for 1+2 for example)

This originated from the fact that Tekken 3 was suppose to change versus system not allowing the same characters to be picked by both players. Same styles would only clash if randomly chosen by Mokujin if at all. This algorithm was abandoned at very early phase, as many other things. Check tekkenpedia and other sources - some characters were deleted (Jun, Kazuya, Sake) both arcade and port were rushed and unpolished. Yet, we got DR.B, Anna, Tiger and... Gon :/

Good to know these clips help also T6 players. The weird thing about T3 is that it never existed in it's full glorious form. Arcade game stunned with revolutionary mechanics but it was obviously released too soon. PSX port was rushed as well, cuts in 3D backgrounds, textures, effects, glitches not fixed (yet most of them do not break T3 like bugs in T4,5,or 6). Tekken 6 copied DOA which most people don't see, yeah I'd go T3 over T6 anytime ;]

Anyone knows how to time the 4:25 move? Its so hard to apply

Go to practice mode and turn on "hit analysis" when you and the opponent flash red/green. Red means no move will come out, green means some move may be performed. There are exceptions to this "rule" but let's stick to the 4:25 - you can see the small green flash on King's body around the time his back touches the ground. That's the frame for tapping 1+2. I found no escape from this part or other extensions to replace it. Nina also has 3+4 after her running tackle but no known extras following it. Hope it helps, cheers.

As many other combos I do with King, I understand I have to finish pressing the whole command before the combo ends even in teh C belly punch to teh sitout bomb. If I understood right and I DO need to finish tapping before this combo ends, HOW FAST DO I HAVE TO DO IT? I do the punch, but I can't launch the sitout bomb, Kings jumps in a kick instead or my "dummy" falls before I get it.

4:13 - is that the move? I stick to the name "Jaguar Driver" :) You can see the button timing, basically 3+4 must be slightly delayed Go to practice mode and turn HIT ANALYSIS on, you will see a green frame window for 3+4 input

Sure. You can assign Shoulder buttons like R1 to a key. Then from in-game settings set R1 to LP+RP and R2 to LK+RK. Now let's say you assigned R1 to 9 and R2 to 6 - you press 9+6 and get 1+2+3+4. In general Tekken allows for buffering, you can hold LP and add LK for jab-throw etc. If you are new into emulation I strongly recommend JoyToKey and Xpadder software. Consider buying a joypad, there's plenty of second hand stuff you can purchase for relatively small price. Good luck :)

I like T3,4 and 5 more than T6 (which im still playing since it has online). I think after T4's failed attempt at innovation (due to imbalanced characters i hear), namco has been focusing on "never take any character out!" and "extended combos!" concepts only. Many people don't even know things like "chickens" exist anymore since it is much easier to pull off a 70+ dmg combo instead. I personally preffer pulling off Kings chain throws rather than juggles. They are hard but much more fun :)

Im a Tekken fan, and one of my favourite things about tekken is discovering new and useful moves/tactics. I never expected the "franestainer+hold down" to work in Tekken 6 but guess what, it is still in there!!! I also accidently found out about sidestep multi starter cancel myself and have been using it efficiently in Tekken6 online battles ever since. I love the way my opponents duck, just to be hit by a surprise middle attack! Do you play Tekken6 or prefer 3 (probably the best one)?

I really like 6, but 3 and that custume rewards, but 3 had Tekken Force and Tekkenball. And as you say: these old moves are atill in use, they just add more. I really wish that Tekken 8 have some extra modes but... I think they forgot the single players. On other side, the new Steeet Fighter VI will have things very similar to a Tekkenbal and an open world mode. I recommend to see the new SF for now.

This ones pretty lame, but there is two alternate sweeps with his forward roll when king is lying on the ground. Forward, Forward LK depending on your timing, will give you a low kick which will turn to the left, or a clean sweep turning to the right.

T3 has a decent online epsxe mod thanks to honmaru website. I recommend it if you like T3 and want to test your skills but anything over 60 ping will get you laggy and installing this will mess up your epsxe settings no matter where your previous copy of the emulator was.

It means you have very little time to press and you have to be very precise = hit the exact frame of animation and usually you can't mash the button to make such a move work.

I can never do the reverse arm slam... I think the command is df 1+3, but I never managed to do it! I only did it once in a fight and never again.

I think you want to use the chain grab starter? If so, it's: f, df+1+3 or f, df+2+4 The timing is a bit tricky but are you using a keyboard by any chance? Use gamepad or arcade stick. You can assign 1+3 / 2+4 in game config to a single button or buffer the input - press and hold 1 and then do f, df+3.

@@Sannidor I'm using a gamepad... I'm playing the EU version, but I don't imagine that could have anything to do with the problem. I tested your suggestion, it just doesn't work... In training mode, the right inputs appear, but the grip simply doesn't come out.

@@alandegemeos3905 Alright, if you play on gamepad do this: press and hold 1 (left punch) then do f, df+3 by simply pushing the thumb deeper. I think you press the directions too fast, it's not Jin's EWGF. Maybe try switching sides, some pads have slightly more resistance on one side from wear-and-tear because our thumbs press harder depending in left or right player side. You need to find precise timing and it's easy then, I believe in you 🙂

I'm just curious. Can you ground throw when your opponent is on the ground siderolling? Or it won't connect? Does this work in Tekken 3 AND TTT arcade? Or one or the other? Or neither?

+Malcolm Bearden yes you can as long range allows for it, it's easy to reproduce in practice mode, remember you can also low-throw quick rolling opponents (not possible in recent Tekken games) and reverse ankle kick which makes good King player keep great pressure on downed character

No I use a DPad. But yeah its hard to buffer stuff. I cant seem to get the throws to come out no matter how much I replicate the timing you do your inputs lol. Only for the buffered throw combos at the end though. I can do most of the other stuff.

Malcolm Bearden try buffering - hold 1 and press 3+db for example; there are two kinds of buffering, registered and not, if you press [1]+2 as King you get two moves, if you do [3]+2 you hide right punch and can go for QCB+1(+2) or df+(2)+3 etc. Same applies for ground throws and basically all moves requiring precise pressing of multiple buttons.
