Fans play these characters because they love their aesthetics and their personalities. I don't play KOF but I played enough Geese in CVS2 to get hype as fuck when I saw him and heard the trademark PREDICTABO.

I'm already so occupied learning multiple characters and just learning and trying to get good with so much in T7, which takes a ton of time and dedication..... but damn! Geese just looks so amazing. I want to play him right now. Lets add more to the list to learn then. That stage too tho. Just absolutely beautiful. Very much looking forward to Geese and the rest of the DLC down the line. Tekken 7 is everything and more that I wanted it be more. I love this game.

ShermX69X dam....well said, I thought I was the only, it's actually boring to me playing 7, it doesn't stimulate me mentally like tag 2, I love the infinite replay value of tag 2, it's so deep and complex, so many characters, so many combinations, so many combos, so much freedom to be creative, Aris just didn't like it because he was always losing, it's hilarious how he bashed tag 2 then was saying people shouldn't say anything negative about tekken 7 when people were complaining about the simplified nature and rage arts and armor moves in the beginning

Dragon Ball is one of my favorite series since I was a child. Trunks is one of my most beloved characters of Dragon Ball. I'm also a fan of Fighting games, I play SF and other fighting Games since 1994. Why should I not be Hyped for this. People are Hyped for Star Wars, Avengers, Game of Thrones, Books, competition and video games too. Maybe for you Videogames are stupid... I don't know, but you can choose to be happy with the things you like, and your judgement is wrong. I am graduated, happy in my work, speak 3 different languages and I'm also a Crossfit Athlete. Ya know, there's 3 key things that make the Geese trailer really hype: 1) This is the best-looking Geese Howard that's ever been in any game, ever. 2) He fell into the category of "unexpected, but not unwanted." There's plenty of desire to see characters from their respective series fight, hell there was even that short Geese vs Heihachi video a while back. People simply didn't expect him to be included in Tekken because SNK's not exactly a universally known property anymore in many places. Compare this to Negan, who's unexpected AND unwanted, in that I doubt anyone has ever watched The Walking Dead and thought "I want to see this guy take on Kazuya." So when he shows up in that season 2 trailer, you're left with this feeling like "uh...Negan? Okay...I guess..." instead of feeling hype. Doesn't help that TWD is kind of dying too... Maybe that could've been fixed with actual gameplay footage to help people get over that feeling, but unfortunately there wasn't any at the reveal. 3) Geese is basically a fighting game meme. Even if you've never actually played the games he's in (hell, I'd bet lots of people only know him for his appearance in CvS2), people still know of the character. The engrish, Raging Storm (which is why it drew such a big pop), and the counters. This familiarity leads to people being excited to play with a character they know of and might have some fun memories of, but unless they play the old SNK games he's in or KOF XIV they probably haven't used him in quite a while.

Bamco's casting was great though. Before Tekken 7, Geese never spoke a word of proper english in-game, and was infamous for it. Yet, Richard Epcar instantly fits perfectly as Geese, with him sharing the role with Kong Kuwata (who does the battle voice lines).

Most long term fans were impressed enough to enter for evo 2017 though, highest number of entrants for Tekken ever (twice the amount from last year ) . When has the fighting game community as a whole been this hyped about Tekken. As a long term fan myself, trust me, T7 marks an impressive resurgence of the franchise since T3/TTT.
