Tekken 8 Ranked Drives Me INSANE

The ranked grind is REAL and I'm determined to take as many Ls as it takes to reach Mighty Ruler. Hopefully my boy Devil Jin gets some buffs soon to help me against all these Hwoarangs. In the meantime, I'm just gonna keep throwing hands until the King mains stop tossing me around like a rag doll.

That grab that king does after that kick is unbreakable, so you'll have to duck and punish it.

Did you mean *unbreakable? they're all unblock able lol. That King in particular had me terrified of ducking which I'd normally do. He caught me with the crouched grab like 4 times 😅

You should punish more/ harder bro. You had a few stagger blocks but didn’t launch the opponent for them. You can’t let anyone get away with anything on this game. So harder wiff and block punishment! You’re pretty good with DJ just use his spacing and mix ups 🤙🏾

Any particular moment where I should've punished? I'm terrible when it comes to knowing my opponent's move frames so I go for duck or step punishes usually. Or 1,1,2s to be safe

@10:49 you had law staggered with that low block. That was definitely launch punishable with a while standing move

1:52 honestly I’d say just try to duck it on reaction to a WS punish that’s what I try to do against kings anyway or if they do that power crush then run into grab just stay on the ground and do a get up kick

Duck the grab you mean? I thought he has other options during that rush so I instinctively go for a block and prepare to grab break but I hear some are unbreakable and idk all the tek

@@Spartanax it is unbreakable but it’s slower than normal grabs so try to practice ducking it on reaction also u wanna ever play together? I play on Xbox too I can give you my tekken Id

Not a bad devil Jin but you should use ewgf and incorporate some wave dashes. Also use more ff 2

Thanks for the tip, I guess I'll keep practicing. My big issue is the electrics. The most I've thrown in a row is 6 but that was mostly luck as sometimes I can't even throw 1 on command so I know if I try practicing in matches I'll definitely have to go on a losing streak to get it down right. My wave dashes are "ok" but I don't use it since I never intend to electric so I'm trying wave into wr2 for when they duck. Isn't DVJs Ff2 the worst of Mishima? Other than wall splats after a tornado I never use it. What's a good reason to?

@@Spartanax worst of the Mishimas doesn’t make it the worst of the moves in the game. Demon paw is still a good move to use in neutral, and catches opponents duck or backdashing too late.

I'm sure you figured it out by now cause this was almost a week ago, but if you didn't: Shining wizard (The high grab from King's running stance) is a 1+2 break

yeah the really funny (and sad) part is I actually learned it was a 1+2 break like a month ago. I just suuuuck at predicting it or getting the timing down. thanks for trying to help though lmao

fellow xbox player huh? we should scrap and no not all kings grab and power crush when you get to mid blue ranks and higher most kings actually use fundamentals “not really”
