In Heat Mode, Heaven's Wrath also acts as a high/mid parry with massive parry window. If the opponents hits you during the duration of the stance, she automatically performs a throw on them that puts them into juggle state on the ground. Also, doing Heat Burst (2+3) during Heaven's Wrath while in Heat Mode performs an unique Burst that hits Low and looks incredibly badass.

Yeah, heaven's wrath is Reina's big payoff for using heat. It becomes significantly more threatening in heat mode. You get a true 50/50 with her low heat smash and her HW 2 option, which can be heat dash cancelled for a full combo. And the auto parry prevents people from pressing to try to interrupt your mixup. My go to strategy after any heat engager is to go into HW as soon as possible, usually from hellsweep or while running 4.

One thing to note, the Heaven's Wrath grab 1+3/2+4 does 15 more damage at the wall, so basically full grab damage at the wall. So it's a good wake-up option for oki at the wall, they have to duck it, which opens them up to her Heaven's Wrath mid options.

Yea I was gonna mention this. It seems like the grab probably the best way to make your opponent not want to just block high against HW at the wall as the low option out of HW sucks.

@@Steamedhams578it’s for end round mind games. Both hits have counter hit properties too. If they anticipate the grab and don’t low parry, maybe they won’t react to the mid. Or if the swing trying to punish the low the second hit counters. It’s basically a risk it all tool. Useless in combat other than that so far.

This is my first Tekken and Reina's my main, I love how she plays more than any FG character I've played before, and learning her is a blast. But the stance stuff is so complex that figuring out how to learn it all leaves me not sure where to start. Heaven's Wrath leads to so much cool stuff but I couldn't figure out how to enter it reliably without getting punished. I can't thank you enough for these vids that lay it all out clearly and let me see the whole picture, plus the suggestions, explanations and examples. This is easily the most helpful thing I've found so far!

Heaven's Wrath can be cancled into your wavedash. Against opponemts content to take the low you can create a vortex using hellsweep. Which leaves you back in Heaven's Wrath with frame advantage.

Only 2 things you missed that uf 1 on ch guarantees HW 1,4 or HW 1 into sental 3. Both options deal 41 dmg. Also ch HW 1 into Sentai 1+2 guarantees her political storm on hit for 62 dmg

I didn't see it mentioned but the at the wall heavens wrath throw deals 15 additional damage (35) becuase she throws them into the wall. This makes it a legit threatening mixup.

If Reina's heat smash doesn't hit clean and go into the cinematic, she will finish in Heaven's Wrath, and plus on block. I haven't proved this in training mode but I'm pretty sure that if they block the sequence you get a 50/50 mix between the unbreakable grab and HW 2's mid hit.

I did not understand what While Standing (WS) mean till today man. I keep trying to do F44 to Heaven's Wrath but Reina never did it no matter how many time I did it. I thought I either suck it it was patch out or something lol. Then I realize that WS means the transition state between crouching and standing where you have other set of moves. This is my 1st Tekken 8 game. This game is so hard yet so fun! Thanks for the vid

You can also do electrics from holding the down forward from all her stances. Just not done raw. If done raw you must do the complete motion for the electrics. It’s a just frame it seems. And 2~1 needs an audio 😂

I’ve also been experimenting w this. By Raw you mean non-heat? What I’ve noticed is that I can get a true electric out of all the stances that allow you to wind god step (w the sparking ankle) EXCEPT Heaven’s Wrath for some reason. So, up/dn3, b3, the back flip, forward flip… just d/f 2 will give you a true electric, no heat. I also noticed that it seems only one frame at d/f before d/f+2 is actually required for these, unlike a standing electric where it will kill it. But, for some reason, I have not been able to get this to work out of HW.

@@hashenone by “done raw”, referring to her normal command input outside of her stance. If done in her stance you can just frame the electric punch/kick if you time it perfectly. You won’t have to do the full command. You CANNOT do this if you hit down forward 3. It MUST be done out of her stance transitions into down forward 3. For instance, heavens wrath df+3 then hit either 2 or 3 to trigger the electrics. Or you can do her other stances first, then df+3 etc. But it doesn’t work if you only use the df+3. It only works if it’s done from a previous stance like Unsoku, Heavens wrath. Then they allow a just frame electric by only using df+3 or 2. A one button/one direction press electric 😂

But from HW it seems very difficult. I even tried again last night & could see real electric command in HW, but no electric came out. So yeah, seems like what you’re saying is right: too hard to be really useful? But from the stepping stances, it’s easy. All extremely esoteric given that I can’t even deal w scrub spam in green ranks haha. But I love labbing stuff like this. Thanks for replying

Thanks for your help with learning Reina. I have been tearing it up on ranked. I do have a question. Albeit a silly one. For some reason, I'm having trouble getting into her HW stance after WR4. Both in neutral and when I'm heat dashing. Even when I hold down immediately after fff4, HW is inconsistent. I know it sounds stupid, but I'm wondering what I'm missing. Thanks in advance

Doesn’t sound stupid at all! A lot of things in Tekken aren’t 100% intuitive but once it clicks then it all makes sense, if that makes sense 😂. Not exactly sure how you’re inputting it now, but don’t think of it as FFF3 then hold down, think of it as FFF3 and as soon as the animation starts hold down. As long as you start holding down while you’re in the kicking animation it should work. Let me know how you go!

I might just be using this at the wrong time, but every time i go into this stance, grab feels like it beats all the mixup game from it. It all depends on the frames, if the grab comes out faster than your attack you will be grabbed, but for example 112 on hit into sentai 3 will beat every grab 👍

0:14 If you hold down while doing the hunting hawk, you are +8 on block and also you will return to Heaven's Wrath stance again. With the advantage, I think the 4 2 2 1+2 follow up should be uninterruptible like said in 3:05, right?

It’s not possible unfortunately, unless you’re in heat. When transitioning to crouch dash from heavens wrath, you don’t get the electric effect under your feet which basically means EWGF and electric CD3 can’t be done. When cancelling into crouch dash from unsoku or her up1+2/D1+4 you get the electric particles so it’s possible there 👍

From certain stances like heavens wrath, unsoku, U1+2 and D1+4, you can cancel out of the stance with DF to initiate a crouch dash (without needing F n D), if you press a button at the same frame as the DF, it will output the CD move as a just frame 👍

I get it 90% of time by just doing the motion very fast while hitting 2 at the same time. Also, in Heat mode all Wind God Fists are Electric so you can be as sloppy as you want.

Second what @laerei said, once you have the general motion down try doing it a little quicker so you have less frames to miss the input. You’ll get there with practice!

Its hard to explain, I do the input but then I press either df2 right before reinas arm raises up or d2 works too. But I sort of hold down 2 or the df input. All ik is you have to do df2 the second you do the input, its a very fast motion

Bro pls tell about parrying.I like reina but her parry is SO BAD like cool i read the oponent and parried and get a stance and then still get hit by his follow up.I spent 3 hours in training trying to find the best buttons to not get hit but no success.(even when you are in heat and then parry for some reason the stance doesn't work)

Yeah you don’t get anything guaranteed off of her wind step or unsoku parries, it’s more of a turn-stealing parry which is ok but obv not as good as getting a launch 🥲

Tap DF while in heavens wrath, then while you’re in the crouch dash animation you hit 3 (no directional inputs). Play with the timing a little bit if you’re struggling 👍
