The reason we don’t say he’s overturned is the reason we don’t want him to be over nerfed. I’ve been maining drag for the last 4 games and in t7 he was one of the best characters at launch but was completely trash by s3 and the end cuz they nerfed him to hell and back. Should t8 drag be nerfed ? Yes but he’s not the only one most of the characters in the game are very powerful which is a good thing I’d take t8 balancing with a lot of fun strong characters over t7 sterile everyone can wall carry and do the same things any day. Is it less balanced ? Sure but it’s more fun

5:50 this one does NOT require challenging execution guys/gals. Follow this tip & blue sparks will consistently appear. The moment u click 1 instead of clicking 4 immediately which is the knee strike ender. Do this instead (do it very quickly btw) FC1 (then press 3) then immediately 4. Get this timing down & blue sparks will appear every single time. Otherwise doing it the hard way is only other options which is to time the 4 exactly at the frame time. Not worth it.

Sneak 4 is another move to use/be aware of. +5 on block (+7 in the 1.0 release) mid out of stance.

yep and puts you in crouch which is good bc you have access to fc df1,4. If you expect the opponent to retaliate you can do qcb2 for a launch or a simple ws3 if you expect them to crouch

As someone who started playing him since T6, he has come a long way in terms of his movelist and difficulty, but I won't lie when I say that current Dragunov is easily the most fun version of the character and he feels satisfying to play, and I wouldn't mind some reasonable nerfa which reduce the absurdity but still keep him competitive. Here's Dragunov's journey throughout Tekken meta: T5DR (Useless, better off playing someone else) T6BR(Console) (Difficult and unique but actually usable at high level and can compete Nobi is a big example) TTT2 (Similar to T6 and has some useful changes) T7 (Top tier in S1, Ok in S2, non existent in S3-4) T8 (Best in the game deservingly imo) P.s. He reminds me of Goh Hinogami from Virtua Fighter both are aggressive characters with an almost exact fighting style and like to be in your face. Lastly, these uploads are amazing

I actually don't think he's _that_ bad in DR. He's certainly not amazingly strong in that game but he isn't as weak as people say either, probably towards the lower end of mid-tier.

1. That happens when d+2 connects on counter hit. It gives Dragunov substantially more advantage to work with. 2. If you input fff+2 or FC df+1,4 with fastest timing, then they emit blue sparks which makes the move deal more damage. 3. Dragunov has a simple gameplan and not much in the way of execution requirements, so he's quite easy to use.

I love this character, played him alot in t7. Just wish they didnt make iwr2 accessible by everyone. I havent tried him yet in t8 as I dont play tekken that much anymore. Not sure if it's the case right now but maybe make it so wr2 only ch launches if you do the proper iwr2 , would be a nice middle ground, newer players can use his pressure , veteran dragunov players get a ch combo.

His counter is sidestep...that's about it. And even then you see he has a bunch of tracking moves on top of throws tracking on sidesteps. It's truely a moronic character and why he is so easy to pickup and win with if you don't have proper knowledge of what he does now

You forgot to mention f3, 1+2 as a heat engaging whiff punisher. It has good range and forces a mix-up because of the heat engaging property. Its his best whiff punisher imo

Nah, it's waaaay too slow to be considered his best whiff punisher. Uf1 F1+2 Qcf1 Df2 Those are his best whiff punishers. Qcf2 is for huge whiffs, which easily beats out f3,1+2 in similar use cases

@@raidennc yeah but f3, 1+2 is a heat engager which forces a 50/50 situation (none of the moves you listed are heat engagers). UF1 is only good at the wall (since it wall splats) and misses any high crush moves. F1+2 similiar story. QCF1 can lead to big combo but its kinda hard to execute and again miss high crush moves. DF2 has short range compared to f3, 1+2. QCF2 is also long range but has a lot of start up frames (technically less than f3, 1+2 but if u take into account of SNK startup its longer) so i tend to miss whiffs for faster moves. Imo the best long range punish is f3, 1+2. Easy to execute AND its safe on block (only -6)

@@raidennc idk man f3, 1+2 is lower risk compared to qcf2. Its safe on block (-6), meanwhile qcf2 is pretty unsafe (-14). I like qcf1 but again the combo is pretty fkn hard (u gotta SSL then do QCF3+4), so i barely use it, and it misses any high crush moves. So for me f3, 1+2 is my go-to move since its safe and easy to execute, is a mid-move (so doesn't miss high crushes), AND also forces a 50/50 situation when i heat dash in (either launch or throw). Atleast in purple ranks this works pretty well
