Really exposes a fundamental error in Namco's understanding of the game. The wall stagger isn't supposed to be a buff. It's supposed to be a NERF. It should have been used to weaken certain moves that are cheap wall splats, like Heihachi 112 or Lidia's political storm. Instead, Namco treated it like the wall bounce...granting the property to certain (often useless) moves. The result is the comedy you see here.

@@vegaspony I think they removed the wall splat for certain moves entirely. They should've just replaced them with wall stagger. It would make total sense if they implemented the stagger as less powerful alternative for easy wall splats. This patch has laziness written all over it.

They actually did use it to mostly nerf movies. Jin, Raven, Geese, Devil Jin, Leroy, Fahk, Feng, Lidia, etc. all had moves nerfed by adding wall crush to them. Only like a dozen or less characters got a wall crush that’s actually usable *and* didn’t nerf the move it was added to.

All of Lars neutral moves are too slow/low damage to be used. Leo stole all of Lars buffed frames. If they would only just make Lars b2 from i16 to i14 he could use those strings in neutral and if the wanted to add a CH move add it to Lars ss2 which looks like it should float on CH... I wonder if the tekken devs know what they are doing sometimes, or just experimenting with new beta tweaks for Tekken 8.

As a Hwo main, the uf3+4,4 move is now even more useless as a punish in the open. It pushes back opponent even more than previous version, so you can't do any mixup eventhough you have + frames. None of Hwo's moves will reach without a crouch dash, but if you do CD then you lose the + frames. Who the fuck at bamco thought this was a good idea?

Its kinda funny to me. I play both SFV and T7, and it feels like the games went in the complete opposite directs. By that i mean SFV started terrible and now its actually in a good place and just feels like its actually for the most part just gotten better and better over the years. Meanwhile when T7 started off amazing and over time has gotten worse and worse and worse. Till it is in the state where it is now. Its kinda depressing since at its peak it was my favorite fighting game but now i just never get the motivation to try and get better anymore and only play when incited by friends to get some casuals going

i have mixed feelings about it. They did ok nerfing the top tier 'problem' characters, they missed Akuma and Feng though. Power creep has been a problem.
