At least from my experience of not going above red, I think it's mostly about the red ranks themselves, because they are the true barrier in my opinion, so people get both stuck and tilted here, while not being that great at the same time, leading to worse behavior. I also didn't encounter much ragequitting untill I got to Garyu and had like 4 ragequitters in 5 matches lol

In my first year of playing Tekken, I was so focused on winning and not learning. The embrassing amount of rage I felt was next to none. No other game made me mad to the point of unwanted tears welling up in my eyes. I just wanted to be better so badly, and in my head, your rank DIRECTLY shows your skill. I was a grown ass man whose pride was being sucked away with every hit of King's alley kicks.

I was the exact same for a LONG time with many games. Broken pieces of equipment because I'm such a dumbass with an anger issue. Fighting games actually taught me to finally learn to chill the fuck out and learn to play games with a calmer mindset so I can think. Yeah. Focusing on rank (or just winning) is such a dangerous mindset. You'll never improve if you're only focusing on getting wins now, instead of priorities learning and acknowledging the value of front loading your losses against bad players first.

T8 is frustrating, but even as a newbie, I already have way more control over my opponents than I ever did in an RTS I've been playing since my teens. Fun fact: If you see somebody with the "Respectful" performance Stat at the start of the game, it means they are consistently rematching and not leaving games.

The thing with tekken players is that when you play so called 'stupid character' like bears,xiaoyu,alisa Victor etc no one will rematch you. It's like giving free points for those players so they just walk away 😂

SF6 was my first fighting game I've really gotten into, and I also got Tekken 8 because I wanted try them both out and see the differences and such. An holy shit ranked on Tekken 8 is fucking lame. I love the game and how it plays/feels but the online aspect and how people dont rematch unless they win is shocking. Its a fucking game, and people constantly 1 an done. I also hate all the wifi warriors. Get a fucking ethernet cable please for the love of god. I swapped back to SF6 after 7 games in a row everyone didnt rematch

Tekken was my only fighting game for a while. I eventually branched out so now I have some base for comparison. I had more quits in the first month of Tekken 8 than I had in my entire time playing Street Fighter 6 online. And I bought SF6 a month after release and slowed down a lot after Tekken 8 dropped. It's gotta be a community issue.

100% I played Tekken 7, I’ve played SF6 since launch, Guilty Gear strive, MK1,11,X and 9 and KOFXV and some others. Never have I come across so many quitters like I have in Tekken 8, still love the game tho

People are caring so much about their ranks it's crazy. Like someone can one and done a match up sure, but when it happens multiple matches in a row, it starts getting annoying. They just get scared when you download the counterplay to their cheese.

I will be doing this soon...after I learn the Tekken 8 basics...the game is SO different from Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat its jarring and I don't expect victories vs anything except CPU even when I figure out a good amount of the mechanics...though I took the first step by purchasing the game. Reina is my top priority with Paul second place due to his knockback on his moves being very entertaining.

I feel the games with a much larger casual audience such as tekken, MK and to a lesser degree dbfz are the most prone to one and done and rage quitting mentality, in sf6 I see it pretty rarely (but do see it) I've almost never seen it in strive and gbvsr, but when I was completely fresh to dbfz I fought a UI goku player who untouched took out my point character then I untouched took out his UI and he rage quit instantly

Hey Brian, i am also new at this game, started playing tekken a few weeks ago. Wouls love ro battle you sometime. I need paul MU exoerience anyway. Also to give slight advice, red ranks are cheasy. But being patient is your best friend. Check them with a jab and punish their jank. Dont rush in all the time because in these ranks people mash super hard. One more thing, dont assume you will condition pwople in these ranks, most of them have no clue whats going on, so keep your stuff safe and combos short and wait for them to kill themselves. Thats ehat ive done never playing tekken before and hit blue ranks.

P.s also abuse frame traps. Like I said these ranks love to press on block on hit while being comboed. So use traps to blow them up.

I've always been better on the back half of sets. I do way better the more rounds I get with someone. The thought of not rematching is insane to me because I know that if I take the second match I usually take the third. Just rematch, you will get better and if you lose again just as hard freaking friend them, you can try and play with them more in private lobbies to figure out how you can beat them.

Wow those lower ranks sure do plug a lot. I definitely believe that red ranks are the new green ranks. In tekken 7 it was green rank as the most common rank and now we have data that says that red ranks have the highest share (10%) of the ranks. It's definitely the salt zone lol. Its the rank where the game says "Ok you have your strings and you know your character, time to learn how to counter others"

Yeah i don't understand this "winquit or losequit" either to be honest. I can guarantee that T7 was not like this at all, you would find a winquitter maybe once in a while, but most people would run deathmatches for like an hour or so Now people either leave or ragequit aswell like 24/7
