Tekki Shodan - Kata & Bunkai - Shotokan Kata - Karin Prinsloo

Tekki Shodan is the first kata of Tekki series (shodan, nidan and sandan). The kata name literally means "Iron Horse Riding". Interesting fact is that some researchers believe Tekki Shodan, Nidan and Sandan, was one kata, later split into 3 parts.
Whilst the kata is linear, moving side to side, the techniques can be applied against attackers at any angle. The side to side movements in a low stance build up the necessary balance and strength for fast footwork and body shifting.

I like the quality and precision of all movements. That is a very good job! You did it 4 years ago. I suggest with time to put less conscience power in the movements , to evolve to something smoother (but not become soft/weak!😅), this is the work my sensei tell me to do and it is not so easy. For the bunkai, i m sorry, but i say : no! But great respect for your work.

gosh calm down! your kata spreads force and strength but no calm at all. your body parts are moving too much. let your tandem and your gluteus maximus do all the work, because that is what the kata is all about. And yeah, they were one kata, that is a fact
