Thanks great vid. My Kata for this month. Been doing a Kata a month for the last two years. Had knee surgery in 2020. Nice to be able to train again. Lower foundation was very week. Spent 6 month just on Tekki Katas to rebuild my legs. Very good form. Oss.

Nice kata, well performed. Seriously, a person is going to block a punch like the first move in Heian Nidan? I understand it's the excepted bunkai in Shotokan ( which I've been studying for over 20 years and still do ) but what if that's not what it's for? 10 million people can't be wrong you might say, well more than that voted for Trump in 2016. What do I think it's for? I haven't got a clue. My current view at the moment is kata is basically kinetics. It has fighting skills included along with stretching, balance, muscle gain, along with instilling a positive mental attitude but most of the moves have no deep meaning or even no obvious meaning, they are there to unite other moves and benefit the body and mind. Of course I could be wrong.

Gravity of feet + Hip rotation+speed + Good Technique= Power Kata Actually, there can be numerous components so it’s hard to pin point on just a few, but those 4 are definitely important.
