@@morphingninja true i forgot about that, but arguably this latest one is much more significant and seen as a true flashback with an important wano figure history of the village zoro getting swords info on sword personalities etc. compared to chapter 194 which is just a couple panels of zoro asking koushirou about if people can cut metal and his answer being how strong swordsman should be able to only cut what they want, even if what they want to not cut is paper/leaves and what they want to cut is hard steel

Zoro is 100% referring to Kuina when he says "best friend" or "親友(shin'yuu)" because in Japanese he used the same term twice to refer to her in the series from what I can tell. First was in chapter 50 to Mihawk, and the second time was in chapter 100 to Tashigi.

The cursed blades may feel like a kid or a inexperienced guy holding a big power tool. when they start trembling, breaking through stuff it's easy to be freaked out and think "wow, this thing might kill me" and put it away asap.

All this gives credence to making a sword black blade increasing it's rank, it could strengthen its "personality", or the mixture of an already strong personality and the will of the wielder that made it a black sword making it even more difficult for others to wield it.

Going further I remember Zoro's comment about Yubashiri saying how light weight it felt, and then when he got Shusui he commented how much heavier it felt. Yubashiri being excited to leave the attic and Shusui being hesitant after being weilded by a zombie for so long

How many years have been waiting for some sword lore? The chapter has a great flow, going through each swords and finally Zoro releasing CoC, I had tears when it reached there.

I don't know if Shishi Sonson works like that, but the way it went with the fight against Kaku, it was implied that that's an attack specifically for cutting metal or anything as tough as iron/steel. I like the theory of King being a fire elemental and Zoro having to learn Kin'emon's sword style in order to defeat him, but all we can do is guess and wait for it.

Those that are saying that Zoro already cuts fire, are correct but I am under the impression that the fire cutting technique is something Zoro has to choose to activate/use. Just cause Zoro knows how to cut fire doesn’t mean he’s trying to cut fire when attacking King.

In chapter 955 "Enma", HItetsu told Zoro that Enma has the same logic as cursed swords that the weak can't handle it, and in Zoro's vivre card that came out in the "New Starter Set Vol.1" booster pack on May 1, it was confirmed to be a cursed sword.

This chapter is a typical example of why One Piece is my favorite manga. Coolness, Badassry, Depth and Lore. You see these fictional characters strive for and do insane shiz in a world that's believably challenging af and still succeed and it kinda makes you look at your own life and generate that desire of - looking out for adventure or trying to understand others or, in this case, being the best at something. There's so much heart in the show that cliche sounding plots that make you fall asleep found in literally every other show turn into meaningful and epic moments.

Whatever King's doing kinda reminds me of Charon from Fire Brigade of Flames. Charon has the ability to convert any damage delt to him into basically potential energy he can release as explosions- which makes him near invincible.

I think the point is that strong swords with a personality that is hard to control are named Cursed Swords not just all great swords. Like for example something like Wado is more gentle personality so it can be used by some one not exerting much will over it, but something like Kitetsu has more adversary personality and seeks to challenge it's user and it needs someone with mighty will to actually keep it down. This also comes to Enma. Enma has such an Ego that some one not fitting to be a King (not having conqueror's Haki) can not wield it. It won't let them if it can. Same kind of thing is at least in third edition D&D where intelligent Magic Items have a score called Ego. If they have a big enough Ego a weak willed user might be conquered by the item when their choise of action differs. But if you have strong will you can force it to go your way even if it would want to go another way. Hence also Law's blade even if it has little to no renown can still be considered a cursed blade as it has big enough Ego to be a problem and a personality that doesn't submit to it's user.

They are saying the personality of the Wado is peaceful and tranquil unlike Curse Swords and especially Enma which seems to be the polar opposite of Wado. You have to keep in mind that Kuina could wield it and beat Zoro no problem with the Wado so Wado is definitely peaceful. Wado the Peaceful Blade and Enma the Chaos Blade.

They are just more troublesome personalities then other swords. And I disagreed with Tekking about all great swords having this trait. And my solution for it was the personality and ego of the sword. Cursed blades have troublesome personalities and more ego while others have less of an ego or kinder personalities.

I think Zoro is not aware he has conqueror's haki. He seemed shocked when Kaido mentioned it, and in this chapter he didn't see the dudes he accidentally knocked out and didn't even react to King's speech. He probably has no idea he has this power, it just manifests when he's in danger.

In my opinion there's another option, that's the way I read the panels: Zoro realizes he has to give Enma ALL of his haki, like with the Ryuo and stuff just let your Haki freely flow, which is probably counter-intuative for a swordsperson who has to very carefully choose how much haki he want to pour into his sword. Anyway, the point is, Zoro just let's loose and stops himself from inhibiting his Haki flow, including his Conquerer's (that he is not aware of quite yet, I agree). Maybe that's even they key to Enma, Enma wants some juice conquerer'S haki to function properly or to feel satiffied at least. Would explain why even other great samurai in Wano couldn't wield it. Sure, Zoro is probably stronger than all of them anyway but since conquerer's is way more rare, even if someone was theoretically strong enough Armament-haki wise, Enma just needed someone like Oden with truly great, kingly ambition

That's the same question I asked myself: what pushed Kouzaburo to leave Wano 50 years ago? And then re-reading the chapter for the 50th time I had this thought. Over 50 years ago Kouzaburo was a great swordsmith very well know in Wano. One day a samurai or maybe even a daimyo ordered him to forge the strongest sword that could rival Shusui, so Kouzaburo gave all himself and created Enma, but that samurai or the daimyo, like Kouzaburo himself said, "was weak and couldn't handle it" so he said that Enma was cursed, maybe even other people tried to use Enma and they all failed, reinforcing the idea and spreading the rumor that it was cursed. In the end he had to fled Wano because he was blamed and accused of forging a cursed blade, and in my opinion that is the reason why Kouzaburo was talking about cursed blades and was so proud of them and bitter against the swordmen that blame the blade for their weakness. I think that in Wano cursed blades were not seen with a good eye, that's maybe a reason why Kitetsu was living far away from anyone and is wearing a mask and maybe that's a reason why the Sandai was in Logue town. After all that came Oden and he was able to wield Enma, even thouht I believe that he was able to tame it and use it at full power only after he traveled with Roger, I don't think he was able to coat it with Conqueror haki before, when Whitebeard and Roger clashed he was way much surprised of that power. Another question that came to mind is: when did he forged the Wano, before Enma or after?

Hey Tekking the sword that Kozaburo was holding in the chapter when he was talking about how swords are meant to kill people looked a lot like Shiryu’s sword. Also in the vivre card it said that Shiryu’s blade “Raiu” is a meito and was forged by a famous sword smith.

okay, so you know how queen mentioned that it was weird that Sanji can use fire and everyone was like: so Sanji is related to lunarians, and now just after we explored Sanji's new durability boost thanks to Germa exoskelton King is also revelead to be insanely durable, as you can probably have guess already, my point is that the Germa exoskeleton is in fact concept borrowed from the lunarians, I'm not sure but could also explain why King doesn't bleed

I think that everyone has been dancing around the edge of what is going on with Enma. Kozaburo said that swords have a singular purpose, to cut people for the sake of killing of them. That's what he believed and how he thought swords should behave. This doesnt mean that all sword smiths think the same way though and that all of them have this same intention in mind when creating great blades, but its surely what Kozaburo was thinking. So when Shimotsuki Kozaburo was forging Enma, he poured all of his feelings about the true cutting nature of swords into the forging process and thus created Enma's terrifying nature, to want to cut and kill everything that comes its way. I don't think that Enma is testing Zoro or has ever tested anyone at all, I think of Enma as like a dog that just wants to play. Enma likes to fight and cut and kill stuff. Enma draws on your haki because being imbued with haki allows the blade to cut more, and that's all that Enma wants to do. Oden wielded Enma so easily because he never held back in life, he always ran head first into everything and was always going full blast in any situation. Enma probably never had to try to take haki away from Oden because he was already pumping as much haki through it as he could from the get go to release the biggest craziest attack that he could. We've never seen Oden hesitate or think things through in a fight, he just goes and does stuff with childlike wonder and enthusiasm, never letting up. So again, Enma is like a young puppy, full of energy and wanting to play. He wants you to pick him up and start slashing away and cutting stuff. Zoro has been holding back while fighting King. He's trying to be smart and strategic, he knows that he broke most of the bones in his body from defending against the Big Mom/Kaido ranged attack, and the only reason he's up and fighting at all is because of some weird medicine that is allowing him to ignore his injuries. So of course, Zoro isnt going all out, he's trying to calculate how much to exert at any given moment so that he can preserve his strength as much as possible while he can still stand. He's only using haki when he really needs it. Enma doesnt like this. Enma thinks zoro is being a pussy and boring at the same time. Enma wants to play. Enma is drawing out Zoro's haki because he wants to cut stuff. Enma wants Zoro to stop holding back and just go hog wild, fight to kill. Its not that Enma is testing Zoro to decide whether or not he's worthy of wielding him, he's just enacting his own will of wanting to cut and kill.

I think it's just that Oden figured out that the trick to keep it from draining your haki is to use your Conqueror's Haki to put it in its place (even if he was doing it unconsciously). At the end of the chapter Zoro realises that too, which is what that whole king talk was about

I'm just not sure if that's what Kozaburo had in mind when he was forging the blade, he just wanted it to cut stuff. I think Enma wants to just cut stuff and he doesnt care if you have conqueror's haki or not,.

CoC haki coating is OP. Luffy went from doing no damage to Kaido to a lot. Luffy also got 1 shot because Kaido use CoC coating on his club. Zoro now having that ability is a HUGE buff.

CoC haki coating doesn't work like regular armament tho. Also it seems like Zoro still doesn't even realize he's using CoC. To me it felt like he was just figuring out how to control his haki and accidentally tapped into his CoC based on his reaction. So he still has to learn ryuo, on top of learning how to control his CoC. Definitely potential for a huge buff after wano tho

Not really related to the video , but I always wondered why did Blackbeard attack Baltigo? Like he knew dragon was staying there , but what was his ultimate gain in doing something like that? Especially considering knowing dragon is the most wanted man. He’s obviously dangerous. Yet Blackbeard still had his crew roll up against him which is odd considering he didn’t feel ready to take on shanks , but I guess he’s feeling better about both his fruit abilities if he’s going after the hq of the revolutionaries.

The whole thing with Enma sucking away baki along with understanding the swords personality and mastering them through that understanding kind of reminds me of a jinchuriki specifically the way Naruto had to go about mastering the 9 tails power. He had to feed his chakra to Kurama with the risk of being sucked dry and he also had to form that bond with Kurama befriending him to obtain his cooperation along with all of his power

In it Zoro gets his sword fixed and then we later see that he got careless with two of his other swords so they’re destroyed at the blacksmith. Reading the official translation, I understood the ending a bit differently. Zoro didn't just "fire out a bunch of conqueror's haki", and it didn't seem like he was simply giving Enma what it wants. It felt more like the proper way to use Enma is with conqueror's haki, and he used it subconsciously to regain control of Enma, while at the same time deciding to use that same haki to fight. Before, Zoro was only giving it armament, and that's why it felt like it'd kill him if it continued like that, but with conqueror's that might no longer be an issue. Perhaps in some way, Enma taught Zoro how to use conqueror's haki in the first place. The moment Enma tried sucking out his haki for the first time, and instead of letting Enma go he forced Enma and his haki under control, might have been his first use of conqueror's haki ever, and Enma's way of testing if whoever's holding it has the potential of using conqueror's. Keep in mind, Zoro's yet to truly use conqueror's haki to fight (Asura Dead Man's Game didn't have the black lightning of conqueror's he has now, he probably only used it to again put Enma under control), and he still doesn't fully realize that the haki he's using is conqueror's (his "What?" question after King mentions Zoro wanting to be a king as well). The first sign of Zoro having conqueror's was after invading Onigashima, and that in itself is shortly after he got Enma in the first place.

So i instantly thought yeah if zoro uses conquerors haki whick we know oden used for sure the sword will be satisfied.

Something that I like is that the old man had the Wado. Gives more feelings and weight to the Scene were Kuina takes it out of the stand in her dojo to confront Zoro at night. She must have felt like her grandpa was looking out for and accompaning her in her final duel with Zoro.

I feel like a lot people missed this, or maybe I just misinterpreted it. But in the chapter you notice that the blade turns black even though it wasnt sucking out Zoro's haki. In most case when we see the sword turn black due to haki, Zoro hands/arm also turn black. But it different this time cuz the blade and only the blade was black. By only the blade I mean ONLY THE BLADE. Excluding the hilt and Zoro's hands/arms

Shimotsuki USHIMARU indeed mastered two sword style by age 19 go back to when zoro was 9 years old when he first fought kuina zoro went two sword bamboo style in stance and kuina asked "ooh have you used two sword style before" And. Nice video Tekking! Just wanted to share a thought I had on Law's blade, since you mentioned that it wasn't even a Wazamono even though it was cursed. Maybe Law's Kikoku is new, i.e. it was a sword forged not too long ago. We already know that Meito swords can jump rank over time, based on what Tenguyama told us, I have a feeling that really really good swords start out complete unknown but over time gain infamy and reputation before being promoted to the Meito ranks. So Law's Kikoku might be Meito class but may not be a Meito yet.
