Nice! You'll love the truck. Make sure and adjust the ride height before driving. If you built it to box stock, a very low stance is good for the Tekno.

You should think of moving your transponder to the front of the truck. If your ever in a "photo" finish it could be the difference from 1st or 2nd and so on. I have seen it make or break someones night.

Thanks for the idea. I'm not sure why Tekno put the receiver box and mount for it way back there.

The only thing I didn't like about the kit is the lack of skid plate, that rear end gets banged up really quick in a jumpy/rough track. I made my own out of plexiglass, also made my own side and mud guards out of HDPE. Cheap to make, so I just hand them out to the couple other tekno drivers that I've seen at the track. That plate basically lasted all race season (race every weekend/other weekend from april to september) and the HDPE flaps won't crack like the lexan ones! also dirt doesn't really stick to that material so it's perfect for it.

+Pat Samson Yeah, I ran it stock with the black chassis and the chassis plate was grinded down to a point at the rear. And that's from a well groomed clay track (OCRC, home of the Reedy) I now run the DE racing skid plate and it's nice, and comes in a pack of 3. I haven't put the wind guards back on, as I didn't tell a difference at all

So I'm looking at getting a new short course truck and I'm stuck between getting the losi scte 2.0 rtr or the tekno sct410.e I don't race much just like bashing. which one would you recommend? if I get the tekno I would have to budget build it.
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
+Austin Hill I would go Tekno all the way. The 2.0 was released a while ago, while the SCT410.3 is fairly new and includes tons of upgrades. It's a beast too, can really take a beating. Besides one bearing, I've never broke anything on my Tekno

I'm getting ready for the pro-line shoot out this weekend and I'm having trouble getting my battery to last 10 minutes. The heat races are 7 minutes and the main is 10 minutes. My batteries are only lasting about 9 minutes. I have the Tekno sct410 with rx8 gen2 pro 4 4300 hd geared 15 pinion 44 spur and smc 7200 battery. any advice?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
+reevesracing13 Yikes! How fresh/broke in is the SMC pack? Do you have a comparison to other packs and length of time? Other than that, you're running the right equipment (very high output for the weight of the vehicle) and a very low tooth pinion ( I was running a 17t-18t) Also, what's your temps? I would guess your ESC is about 105 depending on ambient temp and your motor about 135-145 depending on how tight the track is/braking.
@reevesracing1357
@reevesracing1357 9 жыл бұрын
+The RCNetwork , I started out with an18 tooth pinion but It keep over heating so I went to a 17 then a 16 and finally a 15 till it quit over heating, of course that's a sandy outdoor track in west Texas where it's 95 + degrees everyday, anyway I just plugged into Tekin hotwire and set the voltage to 6.4v per 2s pack (3.2v per cell) and took a fairly new SMC 5000 out and I got 11 minutes out of it so I think your right it's probably my batteries I have 2 of the SMC 7200's and their both getting pretty puffed. so I guess I'll buy a new battery when I get to Indy RC World this weekend. What battery do you run? and thanks for the reply!
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
+reevesracing13 These days with batteries its really a crap shoot on batteries. To puff or not to puff! lol I've had my best luck with the Team Orion 90c packs - They have the 100c's out as well.......but puff city. The weight of the rig and the electronics really take a toll on a 2s system. Good luck with your race and Try and get a few partial uses out of the batteries to break them in

What do you think would be the best for racing and upgrades with normal price like the desc10 or ten scte 2.0 or tekno sc410.3
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
+Kaleb Moore The Tekno SCT410.3 by far and it needs no upgrades out of the box. I've driven all three and the Tekno is much better IMO
@wrhmmcjmc
@wrhmmcjmc 9 жыл бұрын
I am wondering the same thing... Are you going to build the new tekno sct410.3? I am thinking about getting one just curious what your thoughts would be... Do you still have this truck or did you end up selling it?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
Walter Hernandez I was so on the fence on the sct410.3.......I did end up selling the roller (SCT410) on eBay a while back. I was trying to choose between the EB48.3, EB48SL and SCT410.3.........The EB48.3 won, as I don't have a race worthy E buggy right now.

Well since I already have a 1/8 scale race buggy... (Mugen MBX7R nitro)... I think I am going to make the SCT410.3 my next build. I wanted the previous version of it, but never got around to getting it and now that the new one is out it only makes since to get it. Hope its the right choice... Wish me luck! So is the tekin pro4 hd 4300kv the best choice of motor for it?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
Walter Hernandez Tekno does a great job of offering the best bank for the buck, and the SCT410.3 has so many upgrades included in the box vs. the original at the same price. I don't know how they do it

Can you give me advice on what truck to buy? I own a traxxas slash 2wd and 4x4, but everyone at the track tells me to upgrade to a better truck. I'm very new at this hobby. Don't know much about motors also. Please help.
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 10 жыл бұрын
Really depends on a budget. The two best trucks in my opinion right now are the Tekno SCT410 and the Losi SCTE 2.0. Let me know what electronics you have running in your Slash 4x4 and what your budget is and we can go from there
@andykills12
@andykills12 10 жыл бұрын
The RCNetwork I have the stock brushless system on the 4x4 and on the 2 wd I have the castle 4 pole 5700 kv. I was thinking around $700 maybe more. Thanks for your fast reply.
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 10 жыл бұрын
The Tekno is a great truck, but may be right outside your budget once you factor in the kit, electronics, wheels/tires and a body. The heavier trucks (like the Tekno and Losi) need to be powered right as the VXL system and the Castle system would die quick in those trucks. Depending on your budget, the Tekno is about $399, you might be able to power is with some off-shore electronics for now

The RCNetwork OK, lets say I have the money to buy everything thing I need what would you recommend and your set up? I'm pretty sure I can do some extra choirs around the house for my girlfriend to consider buying it for me... lol Again thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

1. Tekno SCT410 kit 2. Tekno Alum 12mm Hexes 3. Tekin RX8 Gen2 4. Tekin Pro4HD 4300kv 5. Savox 1258tg 6. Airtronics MT-4 Radio/Recv (Or what you may already have) 7. 2s Lipo packs (6500mah min. and 75c constant min.) I really like my Team Orion 6500mah 90c Packs 8. Pro-Line F11 wheels SCTE offset 9. Pro-Line EVO or Flotek Body shell 10. Your choice of tires depending on track conditions Otherwise, the manual set up is dialed for most conditions, just adjust the ride height via the shock collars. Hope this all helps. It's a solid set up and should be pretty worry free. I've been running it for almost a year with zero breakages.

I know this is a old video but i enjoyed i have my kit built and made a poor decision running a 4s on the 4300kv pro4hd. Im not racing it just bashing and looking for more speed then the 2s its recommended. What do you think about the 1850kv pro4 motor? Im really wanting to run a 4s
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 5 жыл бұрын
That's really the only Pro4HD motor capable of 4s (according to Tekin) It will do fine! I have a similar rig (DB48 from Tekno) and a few guys run the 1850 on 4s - although they do have slightly larger tires. You can also look into the 3000kv on 3s - also equivalent to the 1850 on 4s
@kennybrown1087

The RCNetwork okay great i went with the 4300 due to its popularity and i enjoyed it before i ran it with 4s. Im gonna gear it up, but right now it has 14t pinion gear. Just to make sure is gearing up to higher gear make it have more top speed?
