Very good tutorial you cover a lot of the basics of schranz. But as an absolut schranz nerd i have to say your drive loop isnt quit it, i usualy make them out of two parts, mids and highs, for the mids i personaly use a old mackie mixer and gain distord the hell out of it but you can also use effects like distortion, saturation, overdrive, amp simulation, redux, bit crusher, etc. Depending on what style you exactly want. Then Low cut the mids, turn the highs down using an eq. For the High parts i use heavily compressed and limitet groovy drum loops in the lengh of 1/2 bar (adds variation). Low-cut them very high. Later for the arrangement the mid loop is always playing, if you want more tension add the top loop. There are many ways to create a drive loop, but you have to understand that the drive loop is the fundemental part of Schranz. A Schranz Artist is always recognizable by his style of schranz drive! Dont get me wrong, its a great tutorial buts its just not proper schranz yet ;)

@@gabrieles2848 get yourself an old mackie cr1604 mixer from sroun 1990.... You can use this mixer to gain distort you drive loops... Thats all i do, get some drum loops (or make your own) send them through the mixer and boom... You got a perfect schranz drive loop. Search on youtube "mackie gain distortion". Theres an old video explaining this technique with a kick but it works the same with drive loops

I really congratulate you on your work and wish you luck in getting better, but I couldn't ignore some mistakes. Mixing regardless of gain settings and working with the clipper's distortion saves time and may feel good instantly, but you should not forget that every time you use a clipper, you give up the natural bass and squash the dynamics. Headphones or in a normal studio may feel right, but in club sound systems, the bass under 150hz will not be strong enough and effective. If you do not apply a sidechain below 150 hz to the compressor you use during the mastering phase- which many producers do not- it will lose much more power due to these mistakes made during the mixing phase. It may make sense to make certain parts mono over eq, but if you separate the post signal you get over reverb with eq, you will also have huge phase problems with dozens of distorted sounds. I’m not saying these for an offensive purpose, all the best
@teknovault Жыл бұрын
So what is the solution then? Coming from Hardstyle, these methods are widely used in the scene. Those kicks are then played in clubs and on festivals. I like the point though, just interested to know why you think this will cause issues? As long as you put the bass/sub in mono in the final chain and control the dynamics (either squash against 0db or add compressor), all should be fine.
@irfaneftal99 Жыл бұрын
@@teknovault for phasing issues, I’m recommending you to use SSL X-Phase plugin. It might take time to understand what it really does but when you figured it out you’ll see kick will be sound much more powerful.
@teknovault Жыл бұрын
@@irfaneftal99 If the low end is put on mid/side, and then compressed or clipped to 0db, there shouldnt be phasing issues in the low end 💪
@movement6514 Жыл бұрын
You're handling the bass just fine OPS, but in techno land, ppl produce more conservative like so they don't like the idea of clipping. If you want to be 100% sure if the bass hits below 150, just try on several bigger speakers and compare to bigname productions like Reset Robot or smth. Don't worry what other ppl say.

Very nice video, I have a question, how do you sidechain directly on the pattern like at 6:10 for example? I've been looking for a while and I don't understand :(
@sergeirukosuev5433 Жыл бұрын
It doesnt work with patterns. But You can do it with rendered presets. If You have FL21 or fresher, just put coursor on the clip. Smal triangles will appear on both corners. Clik on triangle, keep and drag it as he did. Note: In older FL versions this function is disable.

You do know that the rumble kick part could've been way easier if you just created a Patcher preset with all of this over-complicated routing condensed into a single FX plugin, right? You can even design a GUI in Patcher Surface for it to make it look pretty. Also, why are you using Pro-Q 3 to do M/S EQing? If you want to stick to stock FL plugins, you can do this with PEQ2 + Stereo Shaper.
@teknovault Жыл бұрын
Ofcourse! The thing is, this way people learn how to do it from the ground up. If we would also have to explain the patcher plugin process, this would become an entirely different video 😉 Instead of PEQ2 + Stereo Shaper you could also use maximus btw 💪
@velutz_ Жыл бұрын
@@teknovault Perfectly understandable. However, I think beginners can also learn the same workflow on Patcher which enables them to be more productive in the long run. And visually speaking, it's clearly easier to understand the routing process through the links between plugins and layers in Patcher's mapping scheme rather than side by side mixer tracks. Don't take this badly, it's just a suggestion to improve production learning content in general in order to make creators produce more original stuff, which personally I'm always into. Either way, it's good tutorial. Cheers 💪
