My Dad left me a 1946 ES125 he got from his uncle that purchased it when he came home from the world war. Some 41 models were packed away but I think they changed the Gibson signature in 46 as post war models when production picked back up. Anyway love mine and has such a unique sound when plugged in (comes to life).. Thanks for your time Tim!

This is the first thing that I've ever commented on and created an account just to do so. Breathtaking playing, Tim. I've just discovered your tutorials and they're inspiring! Just started playing again after thirty years absence. I won't be 10% of the player that you are but these tutorials give me something to aim at, at least. I absolutely love your style of playing, presentation and obvious sheer enjoyment of the guitar. Thank you so much.

Inspiring performance, thank you. Makes me realize I need to practice harder. About eightteen years ago I spend all my money on a '49 ES-125. Fell in love with it's percussive and vibrant (acoustic) tone straight away. When I plugged it in, things even became better. Love it to bits!

My guitar mentor had one of these guitars. I could have bought it for $150 in 1975 when I purchased a 66 Fender Twin Reverb from the same guy. I foolishly passed on it have wished a thousand times I'd bought it. At least I still have the amp.
@3cardmonty6027 жыл бұрын
Tim-I bought - about 6 weeks ago - an Epiphone 1966 Century reissue. It just like the 125, but thinner. I can't put it down. 1 P90 which is quite spanky - you can play hard rock on it too.

people don't realize the quality of the pre 57 es 125. all hand carved. i have a 59. its really great. but needs work i'm not willing to do to it, since it was a closet case. someone did beat on it in the store sadly. so it does have scratches, but it was fresh before that jerk. i only use it for blues. but yours is lovely for your style. if i were you. just get a small amp, go play out.
