How will the TeleGizmos 365 Series Cover System do in a water test.

As a matter of information for viewers of this video, while impressive (and not a surprise) that a 365 Series cover did not leak under a high pressure hose at ??? PSI, this is not recommended or condoned by the manufacturer. Such high pressure water testing can possible damage the cover nor is it representative of actual weather conditions.

This will be a L O N G reply. SO, the power washer I used is rated at 2800 PSI. Now that's rated at the tip for those that do not know. Once you move away from that tip it drops considerably. I also had a hose that was 50 feet long attaching the handle to the power washer. I can easily place my hand in front of the same setup you see in the video at the same distance in the video. I am a very mechanically inclined person and fully understand what a power washer can do if not handled properly when in use. Same people may not be though. Also, the actual time that my cover saw under the stream of water is negligible and moved it back and forth. You said quote "...this is not recommended or condoned by the manufacturer...". I get what you are trying to get at if improperly done. I would liken it to having to put a sticker on a ladder stating it should never be used on unstable ground. Well, if a person couldn't figure that out by himself without being told he has no business using a ladder; period! Sometimes it comes down to common sense. Now, as to my very simple water test. Further you state quote "... nor is it representative of actual weather conditions...". I'm going to call you out on that, sorry. I work construction and just this morning was fueling some equipment when the skies opened up. It came down in buckets, big huge buckets. It was a torrential rain with puddles in less than a minute. So bad in fact that work was cancelled. On my drive home with wipers on the fastest speed you could barley see. NOW THAT'S A TEST. So, what I did was at the simplest level for a test. As I write this reply the rains continue on and off as does its intensity. As I clearly stated in the video my use of the cover is for an observing session. If by chance you are using it for longer term use then anything goes. Where I live these " torrential rains" occur quite often. My test was with a brand new cover that never saw a day in the sun, rain, nor snow or use for that matter. So when you say quote "...nor is it representative of actual weather conditions..." I fully agree with you. Actual weather conditions can be worse, much worse.

Solid product. I bought mine several years ago at NEAF from Camera Concepts and Telescope Solutions out of Long Island. I got it in 2 pieces, one acts as a skirt for the lower end and the top is for the scope. Other than using NiteEze, mine came with thin Bungid cords and clips to put on and over wide areas and cinch up.

guzzialfa Thanks. I'm getting a few more myself.

Great video! Thanks. I'm going to buy one for my 130EDT/Mach2/AP Folding Tripod setup. FYI, the silver side should be on the outside to reflect the solar rays and allow the 24X7 they spoke of.

Thanks Michael Patrick Milligan. The silver side is no longer put on the outside. It goes inside as I have it. The following paragraph is from their web site: "The 365 Series Cover is designed to meet the most demanding equipment coverage needs including 24/7, 365 outside exposure. The 365 is a multi layered/dual material design that incorporates our original Solar Cover material as an inner radiant barrier coupled to an outer cover made of high count, acrylic coated woven polyester. This combination of materials produces an effective cover system capable of providing years of protection, even when used outside 24/7, 365. In fact, we warranty the 365 Covers to provide this level of protection."

Amazing. You put a lot of time and effort into your videos. That's a really nice cover. I like the hose down with the pressure washer. Nice and dry inside. I also really like those twist ties. I've never seen them before

Thanks for those kind words!

Which Telegizmo 365 would you recommend for a Mach2GTO (on the 6" Eagle Pier) with an EdgeHD8 with complete imaging train attached to it?
@starastronomerАй бұрын
Hard to say. I am going to get one for my Eagle Pier and Mach2 with a 130GTX. I will need to look into that myself. I would check with the manufacturer to get a better handle on that. I do not want to give you an incorrect answer.

Which exact model is this one?

It was stated in the video. I don't recall at the moment.
