How much were we in debt to the USA and Canada after ww2? Not fully repaid, including interest, until around 2006 I believe. Extended several times due to special relations. Ukraine is doing its best with a much smaller manpower. They are ingenious in many work arounds and deservedly the help they can get.

The Russian military indeed suffered 110,000 fatalities since the war began (give or take 10,000) and around 400,000 wounded soldiers but Ukraine's predicament is a lot worse. The Ukrainian military has so far suffered 180,000 - 210,000 fatalities and 900,000 - 1,050,000 wounded soldiers. The reason the number of wounded is higher on the Ukrainian side is because the Russians have huge amounts of artillery and this won't change for at least the next 24 months as the Soviet Union left a huge reserve and the North Koreans are producing 24/7. It does not take a rocket 🚀 scientist to realise that Ukraine can not win this war unless NATO supplies half a million well trained combatants in 2025. No amount of weapons and even jet fighters will make a difference to a military that has only 70,000 - 80,000 professional combatants (in comparison to Russia that has around a quarter million professional combatants which is sufficient to stage successful attacks and push further west and South in Ukraine.

How has no one pointed out that attacks into Russia has done nothing but hurt Ukraine militarily, economically as well as politically? Long range approval may vary well be the nail on the coffin for Ukraine as a functioning country. As the shortfall mentioned already is so large that just to stay afloat the funds needed far surpasses what most western allies are willing to provide. Resorting to leveraging frozen/stolen Russian assets to make up for a rapidly vanishing sovereignty and growing indebtedness of Ukraine will not be sustainable long term.
